Samuel Boucher lived at Calpe from 1868 until his death. He was and engraver and
stationer with premises at 20 Suffolk Street and traded as Waller & Co which was
established in 1796. He was secretary to the Presbyterian Church at Abbey Street from
1868 to 1878. The prize giving ceremony for the Blackrock amateur swimming matches
was held at Calpe in 1874. He died aged 60 on 7 Oct 1879 at Calpe and was buried at
Mount Jerome. His wife was the only executor of his Will and he left personal estate of
4K. Margaret died 19 Mar 1882 at Calpe.
1 Margaret Boyack Boucher born 24 Jun 1842 at Sandwith Street married William
Hawkins, son of Stephen Hawkins a robe maker and Merchant Tailor of 4 College
Green at St Luke’s Church on 28 Aug 1860.
2 Thomas Millie Boucher, eldest son born circa 1845 was a printer and engraver
with premises at Suffolk Street. He died unmarried at George’s Ville, Sandymount
Avenue on 12 Feb 1888 and was buried at Mount Jerome.
3 Henry Millie Boucher, second son born circa 1846 married Emily Waller, eldest
daughter of Alfred Waller of Merrion Hall at the Presbyterian Church on Lower
Abbey Street on 9 Oct 1867. Harry was a printer and stationer. Henry died at
Calpe on 2 Jun 1875 and was buried at Mount Jerome. Emily died the same year.
1 Alfred Henry Waller born 6 Aug 1868 at Clifton Lodge, Strand Road,
Merrion.
4 Magdalen Boucher, second daughter married Albert Justus Deacon of Seapoint
Terrace, son of James W Deacon, at Monkstown Church on 21 Jul 1869. They
moved to London circa 1871 and Magdalen returned to her parents home for
the birth of their second child in 1871. Albert died in 1899 and in 1901
Magdalen is owner of a tobacconist shop at Croyden.
1 Samuel Albert Greenwood Deacon born 11 Jul 1870 at 4 Seapoint Terrace
died an infant.
2 Albert Deacon born 8 Jul 1871 at Calpe, Blackrock.
3 Gardner Deacon born circa 1883 at Dulwich.
4 Florence Deacon born circa 1884 at Dulwich.
5 Marguerite Deacon born circa 1887 at Dulwich.
6 Arthur Deacon born circa 1891 at Chiswick.
5 Douglas Boucher third son born circa 1848 died at Calpe 3 Sep 1877 and was
buried at Mount Jerome.
6 Emily Boucher born circa 1871.
7 James Waller Boucher born circa 1853 married Georgina (Nina) Harriss at
Booterstown Parish Church on 16 May 1883. James was an electrical engineer.
Georgina died 5 Nov 1904 at Frankfort place. James was a border at the Standard
Hotel in Harcourt Street in 1911.
