Thomas Welden Berry Adams born circa 1825 son of James Adams. He was a corn merchant
living at Bristol when he married Hannah Going on 21.08.1849 at Cahir Church. Hannah was
the 2nd daughter of William Going of Alta Villa, Cahir. Hannah died on 11.01.1862 a week after
giving birth.
1 Charles Weldon Adams baptised 13.09.1850 at St Andrew’s Montpelier, Bristol. Charles a
Corn Broker married Susan Wetherall née Peel in 1875 at Kingston. Susan Peel daughter of
Spencer Peel had married Lieutenant Frederick Young Wetherall in 1868. Frederick had died
in 1872. Susan died on 07.12.1892 in Surrey. Charles married secondly Mary Thimbleby
Moor youngest daughter of late William Henry Moor, MD of Castle Hill, Guildford on
14.02.1906 at St Mary Abbot’s Church, Kensington.
2 Harold William Adams 2nd son baptised 30.07.1852 at St Andrew’s Montpelier, Bristol. Harold
a corn merchant married Catherine Mary Balcombe of Marino Crescent, Clontarf daughter of
Lt Colonel James Balcombe on 26.02.1880 at St Ann’s Church, Dublin.
3 Walter Ashley Adams baptised 16.12.1853 at St John the Evangelist, Clifton, Bristol. Walter
married Ellen Frances (Nellie) Washbourn youngest daughter of late Thomas Buchanan
Washbourn MD, JP of Gloucester on 30.07.1885 at Christ Church, Sandown, Isle of Wight.
4 Marion Adams baptised 08.08.1855 at St John the Evangelist, Clifton, Bristol. Marion died
unmarried on 09.08.1898 aged 43 years at Croydon, Surrey.
5 Edward Berry Harding Adams born circa 13.05.1857 at Pembroke Lodge, Sandymount.
Edward died unmarried of typhoid pneumonia on 12.02.1878 aged 20 years at St Valori,
Bray.
6 Thomas Adams born circa 12.07.1859 at Pembroke Lodge, Sandymount. Thomas died
on 03.05.1868 aged 9 years at Avonmore, Stillorgan.
7 Son Adams born 05.01.1862 at Landsdowne Road and died 12.01.1862 aged 1 week,
his mother having died the previous day.
Thomas, a widower married secondly Mary Jane Powell 02.09.1863 at St Peter's Church, Dublin.
Mary of 10 Harrington Street was the eldest daughter of Caleb Eyre Powell of Summerseat
Cottage, Clonee. Thomas was in partnership with William Brown of Browns Dock Mills but the
partnership was dissolved in 1869. Thomas won a medal with the RDS in 1866 for the smallest
pony. The family lived at Avonmore from 1863 to 1870. Mary died 17.02.1878 at St Valori, Bray.
Thomas died in 1908 at Barnet, Middlesex.
8 Frances Powell Adams born 05.07.1864 at Avonmore. Frances a sheep raiser married Mary
Elizabeth Roberts daughter of Thomas Roberts an estate agent on 28.05.1892 at Pinner
Parish Church.
9 John Eyre Adams born 08.08.1865 at Avonmore. John, a banker married Marion Jane (Cissy)
Wavell daughter of Joseph Henry Wavell of Newport on 07.08.1888 at St Saviour’s-on-the-Cliff,
Shanklin, Isle of Wight. Marion married secondly James Edward Hamilton Benn in 1901 at Eton,
Buckinghamshire.
10 Florence Ethel Adams born 20.03.1867 at Avonmore, Stillorgan.
11 Lilian Mabel Adams born 10.03.1869 at Avonmore. Lilian married Otto Robert Moritz von
Grünewaldt an engineer from Riga, Russia son of Alexander von Grünewaldt on 21.10.1899 at St
Peter’s Church, Hampstead.
12 Ellen Adams born 11.08.1870 at 11 St James’s Terrace, Clonskea. Ellen married Arthur Thomas
Jeeves, a chemist of Brighton and son of Thomas Jeeves, a chemist on 06.09.1898 at St Paul’s
Church, Hampstead.
13 Thomas Weldon Adams born 16.07.1873 at St Valori, Little Bray. Thomas married Anna Cooper
daughter of Edgar Cooper of the Hall, Little Bromley on 30.04.1900 at St Mary’s Church, Little
Bromley.
14 Frederick Ernest Adams born 19.02.1876 at St Valori, Little Bray. Frederick married Statia Mulligan
daughter of Thomas Mulligan on 16.03.1901 at Butte, Silver Bow, Montana. He married secondly
Lilian B Jackson daughter of J W Jackson on 22.05.1908 at Butte, Silver Bow, Montana. Frederick
worked for the American Railway Company and signed up for Military Conflict in 1918.
