Robert Francis Woods born circa 1840 son of William Woods, an Inland Revenue Officer. He
was living at Woodville, Haddington Road when he married Helena Mary Whitten on
11 Oct 1860. Helena was the daughter of the late Anthony Whitten, a merchant of Elmville,
Clonmel. Helena died 4 Mar 1878 at Charleston Avenue, Ranelagh and is buried at Mount
Jerome.

2 Mary Woods born 14 Feb 1864 at Woodville, Haddington Road.
3 William Henry Woods born 23 May 1866 at Strand Road, Sandymount, Dublin son
of Robert Francis Woods and Helena Mary Whitten. William an accountant of Mount
Pleasant Square married Lydia Anne Mahon on 15 May 1888 at St Marys’ Donnybrook.
Lydia was the daughter of Arthur Irwin Mahon, civil engineer and Lydia Ledwich of
Vergemount Terrace, Clonskeagh. William a retired accountant died 3 Apr 1932 at
Nahant, Avoca Avenue, Blackrock and is buried at Mount Jerome with his father. He
left 4k in personal estate and a clause in his will forgave all debts. Lydia died
21 Jan 1937 at Nahant, Blackrock aged 74 and is buried with her husband.

He was a bank official in 1911. He was a 2nd lieutenant with the Royal Dublin
Fusiliers, Royal Army Service Corps. He was living at Nahant when he married
Violet Nora Walker on 6 Mar 1918 at St Paul’s Church, Glenageary. Violet was
the daughter of Richard Walker of Violet Lodge, Albert Road, Genageary. They
lived at Nahant until 1946. Robert an accountant died at Nahant, Hillcrest
Road, Sandyford on 26 Dec 1955 and is buried at Mount Jerome.
1 Phyllis Nora Woods born 5 Jun 1919 at Northumberland Avenue,
Kingstown, father resident at Nahant. She was living at Nahant and
married George Edwin Kerr om 26 Mar 1946 at St Brigid’s Church,
Stillorgan. George was an able seaman with the Royal Navy and the son
of Peter Simon Kerr, a caretaker of 3 Carysfort Cottages, Carysfort
Avenue.

2 Ethel Vera Woods born 15 Aug 1892 at Mount Temple Terrace, Upper
Rathmines. She married Charles Clifford Storah on 23 Jan 1924 and they were
living at 28 Temple Park Avenue in 1937. Charles was the son of Herbert and
Ellen Storah of ‘Fairhope’, Blackrock.
3 Frederick Stuart L’Estrange Woods born 17 Feb 1898 at 7 Mount Temple
Terrace, Rathmines. He married Edith Hamilton on 15 Oct 1930 at the
Wesleyan Church, Streatham, London. Edith was the daughter of Alexander
Hamilton of Hopton Road, Streatham.
4 Edith Mary Woods born 18 Apr 1873 in Eyre Square, Galway. She married Robert
Wilson on 19 Jul 1898 at Crosspatrick Church, Shillelagh. Robert was a
bookkeeper on the Coolattin estate and the son of Nicholas Wilson, a farmer.
They were living in Coolattin in 1911 and had no children.
Robert was living at 12 Palanza Terrace, Cowper Road, Rathmines when he secondly
married Emily Georgina Jane Blair at St Peter’s Church Dublin on 7 Sep 1880. Emily was
the only daughter of John Blair of 9 Cowper Road, and late of the Inland Revenue,
Waterford. Robert, a mercantile clerk died from scarlatina on 11 Mar 1882 at 12 Cowper
Road. He is buried at Mount Jerome.
