William Woodlock, a merchant and son of William Woodlock (1741-1825) of Roscrea. He
married Mary Cleary and they lived at New Row. William died 26 Jun 1834 and Mary died on
12 Nov 1856 at Cowley Place, Dublin.
1 William Woodlock eldest son born circa 1801 baptised at St Catherine's was a solicitor
and married Catherine Teeling on 14 May 1829. Catherine was the daughter of Luke
Teeling. They lived at Blackrock and William had offices at Ormond Quay. He was
appointed Registrar of Decrees Orders and Rules In 1840. He died abroad circa 1883.
1 William Woodlock eldest son born 10 Feb 1832 baptised at the Pro Cathedral. He
was a solicitor and died 12 Jun 1890 at Mountjoy Square and was buried at
Glasnevin.
2 Henry Woodlock born 1839 baptised at the Pro Cathedral. He was admitted Kings
Inns.
3 Christina Woodlock youngest daughter married John M’William Aitkin on
2 Mar 1875 at Callas, Peru.
2 Maria Woodlock second daughter baptised at St Catherine's on 8 Oct 1803 married Daniel
Breen of New Row on 4 Dec 1828. Daniel was a trimming merchant and was bankrupt in 1837.
3 Thomas Woodlock baptised 4 Aug 1805 at St Catherine's. He was living in Rathmines and
married Ellen Mahony on 24 Nov 1836. Ellen was the daughter of Martin Mahony of Cork.
She was the sister of humourist/journalist Francis Sylvester Mahony aka Father Prout.
Thomas died at Rathmines in May 1837. Ellen helped establish St Joseph's Institution in 1855
and the Children’s Hospital in Buckingham Street. Ellen died 13 Jul 1884 at Sydney Place
aged 73.

4 Joanna Woodlock third daughter born 10 Apr 1807 baptised at St Catherine's married
Dominick J Corrigan, MD of Bachelors Walk on 2 Jun 1829. Dominick was knighted and in
1870 became an MP.
1 William Joseph Corrigan 3rd son born 1 Sep 1835 was a solicitor.
5 Matilda Woodlock baptised 25 Mar 1809 at St Catherine's married William James Barrett of
York Street in November 1827. Matilda died 27 Oct 1840 at Kingstown.
6 Eleanor Woodlock baptised 13 April 1813 at St Catherine's. Ellen Woodlock married Nicholas
O’Mahony from Cork on 20 Oct 1836.
7 Catherine Woodlock born 6 Nov 1814 baptised at St Catherine's married Christopher
Coppinger on 20 Sep 1836. Christopher was a barrister and they lived at Abbey View in
Dalkey. Christopher died in 1864 and Catherine died in 1888.
1 Mary Coppinger eldest daughter married Martin Francis Mahony in 1864.
2 Frances Mary Coppinger second daughter baptised 8 Feb 1843 at the Pro Cathedral
married Thomas Walshe in 1866.
3 Anna Mary Coppinger baptised 14 May 1845 at the Pro Cathedral.
8 Frances (Fanny) Woodlock born 13 April 1811 baptised at St Catherine's married Henry
Greene in May 1837 at Merrion Square (the residence of her brother in law Dominick).
Henry was from Court Hill, Co Meath.
9 Bartholomew Woodlock born 30 March 1819 baptised at St Catherine's. He was ordained in
Rome in 1841. He was a Roman Catholic bishop, philosopher and educator. He established
the Catholic University School, Dublin, and founded the Society of St Vincent de Paul in
Ireland. He was the 2nd Rector of the Catholic University of Ireland (UCD) succeeding Cardinal
John Henry Newman. He died 13 Dec 1902 at All Hallows College, and was buried at St Mel's
Cathedral, Longford.
10 Joseph born 31 Aug 1820 baptised at St Catherine's was a stockbroker. He married Caroline
Duggan on 29 Sep 1846. Caroline was the fourth daughter of Dr James Duggan of Merrion
Square. Caroline died at Homestead on 30 Jan 1863.
Joseph secondly married Emily Grace Duggan on 12 Jan 1865. Emily was the third daughter
of Dr James Duggan of Merrion Square. And sister to his late wife. They were married in
Rome by special dispensation by the pope. They were living at St Brendan’s Booterstown by
1867. Joseph was a governor of the Richmond Hardwick and Whitworth Hospitals. He died
22 Aug 1905 at 31 Upper Mount Street and left 9k in personal estate. His funeral mass was
held at Westland Row and he was buried at Glasnevin. Emily died 8 Jul 1906 late of 78
Waterloo Road. She left 8k in personal estate. Both are buried at Glasnevin.
