Bartholomew Boyd Warburton born circa 1756 son of Rev Richard and Anne Elliot of
Birrview, King’s County. He married Elizabeth Batt daughter of Benjamin Batt of Ballywilliam,
Wexford circa 1777. Bartholomew died February 1823 and is buried at Stillorgan graveyard.
Elizabeth died on 16.02.1818 at Molesworth Street, the house of her son in law Dr
Montgomery and is buried with her husband in Stillorgan.
1 Major George Warburton born circa 1781, became Inspector-General of the
Constabulary Force in Ireland and died a few weeks later in Dec 1845.
2 Captain Benjamin Warburton of the Royal Navy died 21.11.1828.
3 Bartholomew Warburton married Anne Lucinda Bayly daughter of Rev E Bayly of Lamberton,
Wicklow and Mildred Davis circa May 1820. Bartholomew resident magistrate for Kings
County for 37 years died on 16.12.1860 aged 75 years at Kilbeggan, Westmeath and Anna
Lucinda his wife died 08.01.1873 aged 85 years and was buried at Stillorgan chyrchyard.
1 Edward Bayly Warburton born circa 1824 died on 02.12.1888 late of Bantry, Cork.
2 Mildred Deborah Warburton only daughter born circa 1825 died unmarried on
16.09.1910 aged 85 years at the Terrace, Bantry.
4 John Warburton born circa 1787 married Mary Carleton Percival sister of Col Percival of
Temple House, Sligo circa 1811. John a JP died at his residence Crinkle, Parsonstown on
26.10.1865.
1 Major Robert Warburton eldest son formerly of the 48th Regiment.
2 Jane Frances Warburton.

6 Deborah Warburton eldest daughter married William Featherstone Montgomery MD on
22.12.1840 at Monkstown Church. William had previously been married to Elizabeth
Shewbridge Connor who died in 1839. William died 21.12.1859 at his house on
Merrion Square North. Deborah died in 21.06.1878 and is buried at Stillorgan parish
graveyard.
1 Leslie Sidney Montgomery eldest son a barrister at law married Jane Frances
Baldwin nee Warburton daughter of John Warburton on 06.10.1858 at St Peter’s
Church.
2 Jemima Mary Montgomery married Samuel Little Hardy an MD, and son of Charles
Hardy on 29.12.1846 at St Anne’s Church, Dublin.
7 Elizabeth Warburton married Henry Rooke a solicitor and eldest son of Thomas and
Elinor Ward Rooke on 21.1 2.1824 at St Mark’s Church. Elizabeth died 11 Jun 1885 at
Mespil Road.
8 Henry Benjamin Warburton, youngest son, married Elizabeth Harvey, second daughter of
the late Ambrose Harvey of North Great George’s Street, at Abbeyleix Church on 15 Jul 1845.
Henry was the Sub-inspector of Constabulary at Abbeyleix at the time and was transferred
to Ballickmoyler in 1848. Henry died 18 April 1850 at Ballickmoyler.
1 Elizabeth Deborah Warburton born 10 Feb 1847 at Abbeyleix married Alphonse
Gages on 13 Aug 1877 at St Peter’s Church, Dublin. Alphonse was the son of Antoine
Gages of Arles Sur Rhone. Mons. Alphonse Gages was a chemist and was central in
cataloguing the Library of the Museum of Irish Industry before its absorption into
The Royal College of Science for Ireland. It was announced that he was leaving
Ireland in May 1891 but is found in street directories in 1895. Elizabeth was the niece
of Deborah Montgomery nee Warburton and was living with her Aunt at 1 Elgin Road
when she married Alphonse.
1 Anthony George Alphonse Gages born 25 Jul 1878 died 27th October 1881 and
is buried at Stillorgan churchyard.
2 George Antoine Stanislaus Gages, second son born 28 June 1884 at 39
Wellington Place died February 1885 and is buried at Stillorgan churchyard.
3 Louise Olympe Katherine Gages born 2 Aug 1882 at 39 Wellington Place.
4 Blanche Elizabeth Celestine Gages born 22 September 1879 at 57 Upper
Leeson Street died 12th May 1880 and is buried at Stillorgan churchyard.
5 Alphonse Conil Warburton Gages born 2 Dec 1886 at 39 Wellington Place.
2 Son Warburton born 6 Feb 1849 at Ballickmoyler, Queen’s County.
