Lord Ventry of Blackrock Lodge and Mount Dillon, Roebuck
Dayrolles Blakeney Eveleigh-de-Moleyns born 22 Jan 1828 became the 4th Baron Ventry, on
the death of his father in 1868. He was a DL and a JP and an Irish hereditary peer, elected as
an Irish representative peer in 1871. He was the son of Thomas Mullins 3rd Baron Ventry
(who assumed the name of de Moleyns in lieu of Mullins,) and his wife Eliza Theodora Blake.
Dayrolles married Harriet Elizabeth Frances Wauchope at Niddrie House, Edinburgh on
12 Sep 1860. Harriet was the daughter of Andrew Wauchope of Niddrie Marischal. Their
Irish Residence was Burnham House in Dingle and the Ventry estate was over 90,000 acres.
In 1870 Lord Ventry of Burnham House, Dingle engaged the mansion know as Blackrock Lodge
and moved to Mount Dillon from 1873 to 1875. Lord Ventry, 4th Baron died 8 Feb 1914 at
Burnham House, Dingle, Co Kerry.
1 Townsend Frederick Rossmore Wauchope Eveleigh-de Moleyns eldest son born
11 Dec 1861. he was a major and brevet lieutenant colonel in the Hussars from 1898.
He was ADC to the Earl of Hopetoun, Governor of Victoria from 1889 to 1891 and served
in South Africa in 1896. He became the 5th Baron Ventry on the death of his father in
1914. He died 22 Sep 1923 at Brighton and left 93k in personal estate.
2 Frances Elizabeth Sarah Eveleigh-de Moleyns eldest daughter born 30 Dec 1862 at
Niddrie House, Edinburgh. She married Henry Francis Conyngham, 4th Marquess
Conyngham in March 1882 at All Saints, Ennismore Gardens. She secondly married
Major John Russell Bedford Cameron on 27 April 1899 at St Bartholomew's Church,
Dublin. Frances died 8 Jul 1939.
3 Arthur William Eveleigh-de Moleyns born 6 Apr 1864 at Niddrie House, Edinburgh. He
married Evelyn Muriel Stuart Daubeny in 1897. Evelyn was the youngest daughter of
Landsdowne Daubeney of Norton Marleward, Somerset. They had two sons and a
daughter. Arthur became the 6th Baron Ventry in 1923. Arthur died 6 Jul 1936 at
Dawlish, South Devon.
1 Arthur Frederick Daubeney Eveleigh de Moleyns born 1898 became the 7th
Baron in 1936.
4 Rose Mildred Evelyn Eveleigh-de Moleyns born 1865 in Edinburgh. She married
Alexander Fuller-Acland-Hood, 1st Baron St Audries in 1888 at Sunninghill Church,
Ascot. Lord St Audries died in 1917 and Lady St Audries died in 1949.
5 Hon Hersey Alice Eveleigh-de Moleyns born 31 Mar 1867 in Edinburgh married John
Adrian Hope, Earl of Hopetoun on 18 Oct 1886. Dowager Lady Linlithgow died
3 Apr 1937.
6 Hon Maud Helen Eveleigh-de Moleyns youngest daughter born 1870 at Edinburgh.
She married John Gretton, 1st Baron Gretton on April 1900 at All Saints Ennismore
Gardens. Maud died 29 Jul 1934 in London.
7 Hon Edward Dayrolles Eveleigh-de Moleyns born 31 May 1871 in Edinburgh. He died
unmarried on 7 Jul 1930 in London.
8 Hon Richard Andrew Eveleigh-de Moleyns born 13 Jun 1874 in Edinburgh was a
lieutenant in the Royal Munster Fusiliers in 1893. He was unmarried and living at
Aberdovey, Towyn, Wales in 1911.
9 Hon John Gilbert Eveleigh-de Moleyns born 27 May 1878 in London was a lieutenant in
the Royal Munster Fusiliers from 1897 to 1900. He married Marguerite Jeannie Noon in
1899 in London and died 4 Jan 1928 in New Zealand.
