Henry born circa 1810 had a hosier, glove Lace and haberdashery warehouse at 17 Suffolk
Street. He diversified into selling military stock and dressing cases circa 1836 and morning
gowns, perfume and fancy goods by 1838. Henry Troy of Dublin married Maria Elizabeth
Derepas on 30 Jun 1834. Maria was the daughter of John Derepas of Drogheda. Her father
was the owner of the White Horse Inn in Drogheda. They lived at Harold’s Cross and initially
before moving to Rockfield Dundrum in 1846 and were at 1 City Terrace, Cullenswood Avenue
by 1848. The family emigrated with two servants to America and were in New York by 1850.
Henry had a shirt shop at the Bowery, New York.

2 Henry William Troy (twin) born 13 Sep 1841 at Harold’s Cross baptised at St Catherine’s
on 13 Sep 1841. He married Hannah Lee McKinney on 27 Aug 1872 in Manhattan, New
York. Hannah was the daughter of William McKinney and Augusta C Lee. They had at
least three children.
3 John Walffe Troy (twin) born 13 Sep 1841 at Harold’s Cross baptised at St Catherine’s on
17 Sep 1841 did not travel with the family in 1850.
4 William Alexander Troy born 12 Dec 1842 at 17 Suffolk Street. He enlisted for military
service in 1861. He married Mary Hulbert on 1 Oct 1868 in New York. Mary was the
daughter of John Hilbert and Lucy Gill. They had at least three children. William, a
clerk in a cotton brokers died 16 Dec 1898 at Brooklyn, Kings, New York.
5 Charlotte Mary Josephine Troy born at Rockfield, Dundrum baptised at Taney on
10 Feb 1846. She married John W Hayward from Savannah, Georgia on 2 Mar 1870 at St
Mark’s Church, New York.
6 Emily Maria Troy born at Rockfield, Dundrum baptised at Taney on 6 Mar 1847. She
married John Wilson Briggs Johnson on 3 Nov 1868 at Saratoga, New York.
