Hon Chichester Thomas Skeffington born circa 1814 in Collon, Co Louth was the second son of
late Viscount Ferrard, Baron Lough Neagh in Ireland and Baron Oriel in the UK. He was the
brother of Viscount Massareene and Ferrard. He married Amelia Blennerhassett on Saturday
20 Dec 1845 at the residence of Henry Deane Grady at Merrion Square by special licence.
Amelia was the second daughter of late Arthur Blennerhassett of Ballyseedy, Tralee, and Frances
Deane. They were living at Anderton, Maker, St Germans, Cornwall in 1851. They lived at 1
Seapoint Terrace and in 1872 there address is given as Seapoint Manor. Chichester died
13.07.1880 at 1 Charlemont Terrace, Kingstown late of Seapoint Manor and burial was to
Drogheda. Amelia died 03.08.1887 at Southsea, Hampshire, late of 31 Park Avenue,
Sandymount.
1 Frances Amelia Skeffington born circa 1847 at Anderton, St Germans, Cornwall.
Frances died unmarried on 25.02.1919 aged 72 years at Weston, Dunleek. Informant
her sister Henrietta Kelly. Probate to her brother Blennerhasset.
2 Harriette Skeffington born 1847 at St Germans, Cornwall died an infant.
3 Anna Louisa Foster-Skeffington born circa 1849 at Anderton, St Germans, Cornwall
married James Foorde Hilton 2nd son of Rev H Hilton, Rector of Milstead, Kent on
27.03.1869 at Monkstown Parish Church. Anna and James living with his parents in
Milstead in 1871 and in Moray, Scotland in 1881. Anna and her husband were taken
to court by her brother in law Lord Muskerry in 1895 for alleged libel after she sent
a letter to him. The action was withdrawn after Anna apologised and agreed to send
no further letters to him. James died on 28.01.1910 of Archers Court Ore, Sussex.
Probate to his widow Anna. Anna of 12 Clarinda Park East, Kingstown died on
31.01.1915 at Torquay.
4 Chichester Arthur Skeffington born 22.05.1850 at Anderton Cornwall. Chichester
died on 03.09.1918 of 87 Upper Richmond Road, Putney, Surrey.
5 Flora Georgina Foster-Skeffington third daughter, born circa 04.06.1852 married Rt
Hon Hamilton Mathew Tilson Fitzmaurice Deane-Morgan on 23.11.1872 in
Edinburgh. After the birth of her last child, Flora left the family home. Flora died
circa 28.12.1902 at Côtes-d'Armor, France and Hamilton died on 09.06.1929 of Red
House Cranford, Middlesex.
6 Ada Blennerhasset Skeffington of St John’s Villas baptised on 16.07.1854 at St John’s
Parish, Holloway, Islington married Rodolfe Harman son of Ralph Harman, Cavan in
1878. Ada aged 54 years a widow living with her son Ralph and daughter Helen in
1911 in Hampshire. Ada died on 20.01.1923.
7 Kathleen Skeffington born 16.08.1856 at Marino Crescent, Clontarf.
8 Henrietta Foster-Skeffington youngest daughter born 19.03.1858 at 17 Marino
Crescent, Clontarf married Major Arthur Dillon Denis Kelly eldest son of Gen Sir
Richard Denis Kelly of Mucklion, Ahascragh, Galway and Shrublands, Earley, Reading
on 17.04.1895 at St Mary’s Abbots, Kensington. Henrietta was given away by her
brother Charles.
9 Charles Clotworthy Skeffington 2nd son born 01.06.1860 at Marino Crescent,
Clontarf. Charles died on 02.08.1913 aged 53 years in Vancouver, Canada and is
buried at Mountain View Cemetery.
10 Thomas Henry Skeffington born 17.08.1862 at Grace Hill, Ballymoney. Thomas sued
Lord Muskerry in 1904 for the burial expenses of his sister Flora. He had advised
Lord Muskerry of her death by telegraph but received no reply. Thomas of 19
Disraeli Road, Putney, Surrey died on 24.01.1926 at Vila Rosan Dinan, Cote de Nord,
France. Probate to sister Henrietta Kelly.
11 Blennerhassett John Foster Skeffington born 24.02.1866 at 24 Holles Street, Dublin
married Lily Elizabeth Devore Wild daughter of Thomas Wild on 06.02.1900. He fought
in the Boer War and the First World War. Lily died 30.06.1932 in London and
Blennerhassett died 13.08.1935 aged 69 years. Probate to William Rodolph Skeffington
Harman.
