Edward Simmonds youngest son of John Eston Simmonds and Catherine Cooper of Easton
House born circa 1796 educated at St Wolstan's, Co Kildare. Edward married Catherine Jane
Cooper at Mountmellick on 23.03.1831. Catherine was the 2nd daughter of the late Joseph
Cooper of Mountmellick. Edward practiced as a solicitor at 10 Molesworth Street and 17
South Frederick Street, Dublin. He was appointed to be a Master Extraordinary of the High
Court of Chancery of Ireland on 06.10.1843 by the Lord Chancellor. The family lived at Hilton
Lodge, Waltham Terrace, Blackrock from 1955 to 1867 and by 1870 were living at Cromlech,
Loughlinstown. Edward died 03.10.1892 at The Cromlech, Loughlinstown. The informant
J Simmonds, daughter. His executor John Francis Walker, QC.
1 Jane (Sarah) Simmonds born circa 1834 in Dublin City. In 1897 Jane of living at
Cromlech had her dog unmuzzled at a public place in Ballybrack and was fined one
shilling. In 1901 and 1911 Jane was living with Rev Albert Cooper a cousin in Wexford.
2 Edward J Huson Simmonds only son born circa 1836 died 15.03.1855 aged 19 years at
Waltham Terrace, Blackrock.
