John Schoales born circa 1768 son of Adam Scholes. He married Clementina Archer on 07.09.1801
at Limerick. Clementina was the 2nd daughter of Clement Archer, Staff Surgeon. They lived at St
Bridget’s Clonskeagh between 1835 and 1836. John was a barrister and QC.
1 Adam Schoales born circa 1805 of Londonderry eldest son married Elizabeth Brown 2nd
daughter of Andrew Brown of Liverpool on 21.07.1825 at Liverpool. Elizabeth died on
24.04.1858 at Carlton Crescent, Southampton.
1 Elizabeth Hariot Schoales only daughter born circa 1837 married Major Charles
Elgee of the 3rd Depot Battalion on 30.05.1859 at St Marylebone Church.
2 John Robert Downes Schoales born 1845 Kent and died 26.07.1914 late of 33
Catherine Street, Liverpool.
Adam married secondly Mary Emily Sheffield Cox daughter of Rev Sir Robert Sheffield on
26.11.1859 at St Mary’s Parish Church, Middlesex. Mary died on 19.01.1872 aged 71 years
at Freshford, Bath late of Colville Gardens, Middlesex and Adam died on 26.02.1875 at
18 Dingle Lane, Toxteth. Probate to George Alcock of the Palace, Henry Street, Limerick.
2 Rev Clement Archer Schoales born circa 1807. Clement was ordained a priest in
1836. As curate of Taney Church he was appointed to the curacy of Cloncha,
Donegal in December 1837. Clement died in 1864 aged 56 years in Dublin.
3 Elizabeth Schoales born circa 1807 married Richard West Nash of Moyle House,
Tyrone eldest son of Rev Dr Nash on 07.07.1834 at St Peter’s Church, Dublin at the
same day as her sister Clementina. Richard a barrister-at-law and member of the
Legislative Council, Western Australia died on 22.12.1850 at Norwood, Surrey.
4 Jane Schoales born circa 1809 died on 02.03.1821 aged 12 years and is buried at
Donnybrook with here sister Clementina.
5 John Schoales 3rd son born circa 1810 of Fitzwilliam Square called to the Bar in 1835.
John died on 10.02.1847 at Perth, Western Australia.
6 George Schoales born circa 1815 married Caroline Emma Featherston younger
daughter of late Colonel Fetherston of the Hon East India Company’s service on
10.04.1860 at Trinity Church, Tunbridge Wells. George formerly of Pembroke Lodge,
Bray, Wicklow and late of 17 Palmerston Park, Rathmines died on 23.10.1898.
Probate to his widow Caroline. Caroline died on 09.07.1902 aged 84 years at Doory
Hall, Longford. They are buried at Mount Jerome.
7 Clementina Schoales born circa 1816 married Edward Vigors Alcock eldest son of
Rev George Alcock of Ullard Glebe, Kilkenny on 07.07.1834 at St Peter’s Church,
Dublin on the same day as her sister Elizabeth. Clementina died on 24.02.1890 aged
75 years and Edward died on 01.05.1891 aged 82 years both at Ballymoe, Tullow,
Carlow. Clementina is buried at Donnybrook with her sister Jane.
8 Hariot Schoales youngest daughter born circa 1818 and baptised at St Peter’s Church,
Dublin died on 16.02.1842 at her fathers house in Fitzwilliam Square.
