Alexander William Maxwell Stewart born circa 1818 son of William and Letitia Stewart of
Horn Head, Co Donegal. He graduated Trinity and took Holy orders. His father died at
Horn Head in 1840. He was rector of Tullaghobegley, Raphoe and formerly of Horn Head
and married Sarah Oliver Gibbings on 06.11.1855 at Myragh Church. Sarah was the youngest
daughter of Rev Thomas George Gibbins Rector of Templenecarrigy, Cloyne, and his wife
Agnes Roberts. His mother died at Kingstown in 1860. Alexander died 11.07.1863 at
Ardnadreen Glebe and is buried at St Ann’s Church, Killult, Falgarragh, Donegal. Sarah died
24.04.1905 at Talbot House, Blackrock and buried at Deansgrange.
1 Agnes Stewart born 29.08.1856 at Ardnadreen Glebe, Co Donegal died unmarried on
30.09.1930 aged 74 years at Highfield, Drumcondra late of 14 Kent Terrace, Dalkey
and is buried at Deansgrange.
2 Elizabeth Mary Stewart 2nd daughter born circa 1858 in Donegal. Elizabeth of 23
Mespil Road married Charles Augustus Townley on 30.04.1889 at Christ Church,
Leeson Park, Dublin. Charles was a divorcé and sub-manager of the National Bank,
Newbridge. He was the only son of late Charles Townley of Townley House, Ramsgate.
Elizabeth died on 10.05.1925 aged 44 years at Rest for the Dying, Camden Row late of 3
Coburg Place and Charles died on 26.03.1932 aged 77 years at Parkside Hotel, North
Circular Road.
3 Caroline C Stewart born 26.07.1860 at Ardnadreen Glebe, Donegal. Caroline died
unmarried on 23.06.1923 aged 61 years at St Michaels Hospital late of 14 Kent Terrace,
Dalkey and is buried at Deansgrange.
4 Alexander William Maxwell Stewart only son born circa 1864 died 01.04.1879 at
Armagh.
