Gamble family of Anna Villa, Newtown Avenue
Samuel Gamble of Graan born 1765. He married Mary Gamble daughter of Moses Gamble
of Ballaghmore. Samuel died in June 1832 at Graan.
1 Baptist Gamble born 1809 of Graan married Isabella Macpherson of Enniskilllen on
3 Oct 1830. She was the daughter of William Macpherson, formerly quartermaster of
the 75th Regiment. Isabella died 3 Feb 1889* at Graan aged 88, her nephew Baptist
the informant. She is buried at Rossorry. Baptist a JP, died 01.12.1890 at Graan
House aged 81 years.
2 Samuel Gamble second son born circa 1815. As second son he married Alicia Killaly
on 29.06.1838 at Monkstown Church. Alicia was the daughter of the late John Killaly
of Dublin. Samuel was a civil engineer and worked for the Bord of Works at Co Meath.
He was promoted to inspecting inspector at Co Clare in 1846 but ran into difficulties
with the board in 1847. They moved to Dublin and lived at Anna Villa, Newtown
Avenue and then on to Canada. He died on 20 Jul 1873 at Willoughby Place, Enniskillen.
Alicia died 26.06.1899 aged 88 years at Alexander Terrace, Enniskillen. Informant

1 Elicia Maria Gamble eldest daughter born 1840 died unmarried on 18.06.1884
aged 44 years at the residence of her uncle Baptist at Graan.
2 Killaly Gamble 2nd son born 18 Oct 1844 at Graan. He was educated at Portora
Royal School and joined the Royal Artillery in 1866. He emigrated to Canada in
1881. Captain Gamble, late Royal Artillery married Martha Darcy Killaly on
28.05.1886 in Boston, USA. Martha was the youngest daughter of late
Honourable Hamilton Hartley Killaly and Martha Jane Hanley. They were living in
Boston in 1901 and Killaly was working as a land surveyor. Martha died on
04.06.1910 at Sussex Court Toronto, Canada and Killaly died on 17.06.1912 aged
67 years at Bournemouth.
3 Baptist Gamble youngest son born circa 1847. He was a physician and surgeon
and died unmarried on 14.12.1895 aged 48 years at Darling Street, Enniskillen.
Informant sister Mary Louisa. He is buried at Rossorry graveyard.
4 Samuel Baptist Gamble born circa 1849. He was an MD and died on 08.03.1893
at sea.
5 Richard Gamble youngest son born circa 1852 drowned whilst fishing in the Bay in
Toronto on 24.05.1862 aged 10 years.
6 Mary Louisa Gamble younger daughter born circa 1859 died unmarried on
08.03.1898 aged 39 years at Alexander Terrace, Enniskillen. Informant Thomas
Vesay Bell. She is buried at Rossorry graveyard.
