James Quigley married Judith Sohan

at New Park Lodge at Foxrock
James Quigley a cattle dealer of 69 Cork Street in 1834 and of 69 Cork Street in 1849. James
was a farmer of Galloping Green, Foxrock between 1849 and 1862. A fire broke out in the
dairy house in 1854 on the premises of James Quigley. Joseph was living at Newpark Lodge
by 1866 and owned 102 acres in Foxrock in 1876. James was a PLG on the board of
Rathdown Guardians and left nearly 18K in his Will, (about 2 million today). He was a dairy
farmer of Foxrock with about 200 acres of grazing land. This seems to be the land the
Foxrock estate was built on. Judith died 11.01.1867 and was buried at Glasnevin. James
died 06.2.1899 at New Park Lodge and was buried with his wife. Probate of his will was
granted to his niece Emily Quigley with £100 to be given to the Sisters of Charity, Vincent's
Hospital if she so desired. That donation was made. No issue found.
James' brother John was a woollen merchant of Bridge Street. His daughter Emily inherited
her uncles's property.
1 Emily Mary Quigley born circa 1856 daughter of John Quigley and niece of James
Quigley living at New Park Lodge in 1901. Mary Murray a dressmaker was a visitor.
Emily of Newpark Lodge, Stillorgan married Patrick Michael Doran son of Thomas
and Rachel Doran of Castle Street, Roscommon a grazier on 03.06.1901 at the
Roman Catholic Chapel in Cabinteely. They lived at New Park Lodge until 1910. In
1911 they were living at 72.2 Wadehouse Terrace, Circular Road, Dublin. Emily died
on 28.07.1924 aged 75 years at 2 Dalymount and Patrick died on 13.02.1943 aged
78 years at the Mater Hospital of 2 Dalymount. They are buried at Glasnevin.
