Edward Flanagan born circa 1830 in Co Meath son of Richard and Ann Flanagan and the
grandson of Michael and Bridget Flanagan. He married Mary Austin on 07.03.1859.
They lived at Corballis, Garlow Cross, Navan and Edward was a farmer and horse breeder.
Mary died 16.04.1908 and is buried at Monktown, Navan. Edward died 17.12.1913 and
is buried with his wife.

Roman Catholic Chapel of Johnstown.
7 Julia Therese Flanagan born 09.02.1874 at Corballis, Johnstown, Meath. Julia married
John Stephen Pentony of Beechmount Navan son of John Pentony and Rosa McKeon on
20.02.1895 at the Roman Catholic Church, Johnstown. John seems to have been selling
Beechmount in 1906 and died on 24.01.1910 aged 48 years at Kylemore, Bray, Co
Wicklow and is buried with his parents at Abbey, Newtown, Trim. In 1911 Julia was living
at 6 King Edward Road, Bray with her son Vincent aged 8 years and Joseph Flanagan (most
likely her brother). Julia lived at Charlton from 1913 to 1921. Julia died on 26.02.1925
aged 47 years at 6 Trafalgar Terrace, Monkstown and is buried with her husband,
daughter and son.
1 Rosanna Angelina Pentony born 08.10.1896 at Beechmount, Navan and died on
27.03.1897 aged 6 months at same place and was buried at Newtown, Trim.
2 John Edward Joseph Pentony born 02.03.1899 at Beechmount died on 30.10.1918
at Charlton, Roebuck and is buried at Newtown, Trim.
3 Vincent Stephen Pentony born 06.11.1901 at Beechmount studied music. Vincent of
the Salthill Hotel, Dublin married Eileen M Kiernan of 1 Breffni Terrace, Sandycove
daughter of Michael Kiernan on 08.02.1928 at the Roman Catholic Church of St
Joseph, Dun Laoghaire. Vincent was an organist at St Xaviers and later organist and
choirmaster at Westland Row. He set many of Francis Ledwidge’s poems to music
and was also a teacher at the Royal Academy of Music. He died 03.02.1975 at St
Columcille’s Hospital late of Sandycove.
8 Patrick Flanagan born 23.05.1876 at Corballis, Johnstown. He was an extensive farmer at
Corballis Vale and married Aida McAuley on 02.12.1925 at Dunshaughlin. Ada was the
daughter of Sylvester McAuley of Rathbeggan. Patrick died 09.08.1962 at Corballis and is
buried with his parents. He was survived by his wife and daughter.
