Jacob Pearson born circa 1835 son of Jacob Pearson, a farmer. He was a labourer living at
Loughgall and joined the RIC on 18 Dec 1858. He was a policeman and married Isabella Cassells
on 16 Jul 1870 at Loughgall. Isabella was the daughter of John Cassells, a farmer. Isabella died
25 Mar 1898 at Dalymount late of Lower Rutland Street. Jacob was retired and a widower living
at Dalymount, North Circular Road by 1901. He died 1 Jan 1911 at 2 Homelee, Sandymount.
1 John Pearson born 12 Mar 1862 at James Street baptised at St Catherine’s Church. He
was a van driver and died unmarried at 24 Lower Rutland Street on 17 Dec 1894. His
father Jacob the informant.
2 Elizabeth Pearson born 12 Aug 1864 at 6 Brown Street baptised at St Catherine’s. She
was living with her father in 1901 and her brother in 1911. She died unmarried at Upper
Pembroke Street late of Belgrove, Stillorgan Road on 4 Dec 1937.
3 Jacob Pearson born 15 Sep 1870 at 19 Margaret’s Place, Bath Avenue. He attended St
George’s National School. He was a confectioner and tobacconist living at Home Terrace
near Sandymount in 1911 with his sister and niece. He lived at Belgrove, Stillorgan Road
from 1921 until his death. Jacob died unmarried on 3 Dec 1956 at Burlington Clinic late
of Belgrove, Stillorgan Road. His funeral service was held at St Thomas’ Foster Avenue
and he was buried at Mount Jerome.
4 Letitia Jane (Jeannie) Pearson born 18 Aug 1872 at Margaret Place, Bath Avenue baptised
at St Matthew’s, Irishtown. She was living with her father and working as a clerk in 1901.
She married Francis Charles Edison on 23 Jun 1902 at St Thomas’ Church, Dublin. Francis
was a fishmonger and the eldest son of Charles John Edison, a school master of Claude
House, Peckham, London. They were living at Belmont Avenue with four of their children
in 1911 and at Serpentine Avenue in 1915. Letitia died at the Adelaide Hospital on
16 May 1928. Francis died a widower at Dr Steeven’s Hospital on 25 Feb 1958 late of
Ranelagh. Funeral was held at Bartholomew’s Church, Clyde Road and he was buried at
Mount Jerome.

2 Charles John Edison born 7 Nov 1905 at 176 Pembroke Road.
3 Eliza Isabella Edison born 29 Jan 1907 at 11 Belmont Avenue. She married Richard
William Leslie of Tritonville Road on 25 Sep 1935. Richard was the son of the late
Robert James Leslie, a post office superintendent.
4 Francis Jacob Edison born 28 May 1908 at 11 Belmont Avenue died from appendicitis
on 21 Dec 1919 at Fermanagh Hospital.
5 George Edison born 2 May 1910 at 11 Belmont Avenue. He died at Pembroke Road
after a fall whilst playing at Belgrove on 27 Aug 1921.
6 Marjorie Edison born 3 Aug 1915 at 4 Sandymount Road.
