Patrick Carroll born circa 1877 in Co Limerick son of Thomas Carroll. He was a policeman
living at Castle Yard and married Margaret Mary Byrne on 15 Jul 1905 at St Kevin’s Church,
Harrington Street. Margaret was living at the SCR and was the daughter of John Byrne, a
miller. He was a sergeant in the DMP by 1919. By 1938 they were living at 25 Carysfort
Avenue and Patrick was a dairy proprietor. They lived at Bellview farm from 1941 to 1953.
Patrick, ex DMP died 27 Dec 1946 at the Hospice, Harold's Cross and is buried at
Deansgrange. His brothers Thomas and Michael attended his funeral. Margaret died
8 May 1953 at Bellevue Farm and is buried with her husband.
1 Edith Florence Carroll born 17 Nov 1905 at Blessington Street, Dublin. She was living
at 25 Carysfort Avenue and married Stephen O’Halloran on 23 Sep 1940 at John the
Baptist Church, Blackrock. Stephen was a law student and the son of Michael
O’Halloran, a solicitor. Stephen died 21 Jun 1967 aged 54 at Bellevue and Edith died
14 Dec 1976 at Galloping Green.
2 Elizabeth Lillian (Lillian) Carroll born 2 Sep 1912 at Holles Street, parents resident at
Rathmines. She was living at 25 Carysfort Avenue, Blackrock and married George
Charles McIntyre of 11 St Paul’s Terrace, Sandycove at the Church of John the Baptist,
Blackrock on 3 Sep 1938. George was a clerk and the son of Patrick McIntyre, a
commercial traveller. By 1946 George was town clerk of Dun Laoghaire Burrough
Corporation and by 1955 he was assistant manager.
1 Baby McIntyre died 22 May 1954 at 2 Belmont Terrace, Galloping Green and is
buried with their Carroll grandparents.
3 Una Mary Carroll born 19 May 1914 at Holles Steet, parents resident in Rathmines was
unmarried in 1946. She was a shop assistant living at Belleview Farm and married
widower Gerald Francis Byrne on 16 Jun 1948. Gerald was a publican of Phillipstown
House, Galloping Green and the son of Edward Byrne, a landlord.
4 Florence Edith (Florrie) Carroll born 16 Apr 1916 in Holles Street, parents resident at 5
Martello Terrace, Williamstown never married.
5 Doris Carroll was living at 25 Carysfort Avenue and married John Anthony Monaghan on
22 Aug 1938 at John the Baptist Church, Blackrock. John was a salesman living at 45
Serpentine Avenue, Sandymount and was the son of John Monaghan, a journalist.
6 Edward John Carroll born 25 Feb 1919 at 5 Martello Terrace, Williamstown. He married
and they lived at 12 Ballally Drive in Dundrum.
