George William Pratt born 6 Oct 1881 at Cavan, son of William Pratt and Margaret (Maggie)
Deane. George a farmer married Florence McCullagh at Kimore Parish Church on
11 Feb 1916. Florence was the daughter of James McCullagh and Mary Jane McGill. They
lived in Crumlin and put the house and farm up for sale in 1932. The were at Sallins by 1934.
George died at Millicent House, Sallins on 13 Jul 1940. Florence continued to farm at Sallins
until 1946 when she put the 105 acre farm up for sale. Florence died 10 Feb 1968 at
Bloomfield, Donnybrook late of Palmerstown. Both are buried at Mount Jerome.
1 William Norman Pratt born 30 Mar 1917 at Cavan. He was a draughtsman working
at Messrs Henry Simon & Co Limited, Stockport in 1939. He enlisted and was a
sergeant with the RAF 455 Squadron service number 990739. He was shot down by
a night fighter at Winkeldorf southwest of Zeven during a raid on Hamburg, two of
the crew survived and were captured. He was killed 15 Sep 1941 and his body was
never found. He is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial. According to the
Commonwealth War Graves Commission his parents were George & Florence Pratt
of Blackrock, Co Dublin but no connection with Blackrock has been found. He is
also remembered on the family headstone in Mount Jerome.
2 James Ernest Pratt born circa 1919 died 11 May 1929 at Cork Street Hospital from
diphtheria and was buried at Mount Jerome.
3 George Pratt born 3 Feb 1921 at Kingsfield House, Crumlin died 13 May 1929 at
Kingsfield House, Crumlin from diphtheria and was buried at Mount Jerome.
