Robert Tilson Fitzmaurice Deane 1826-1857 grandson of Robert and Anne married Elizabeth
Geraldine Grogan Morgan 1830-1920 of Johnstown Castle, Wexford and assumed the name
Morgan. Their son Hamilton succeeded his Grandfather as 4th Baron Muskerry in 1868.

Rt Hon Sir Hamilton Matthew Tilson Fitzmaurice Deane-Morgan born 1854 married Flora
Georgina Skeffington on the 23 Nov 1872 at Edinburgh. Flora was the third daughter of Hon
Chichester Thomas Skeffington and his wife Amelia Blennerhasset of Lislagan, Antrim and
Seapoint Manor. In 1876 Hamilton took a suit to the Dublin Matrimonial Court to get a
declaration to Flora was valid to dispel the rumours that their marriage was irregular. The
judge issued a degree to its validity.
In 1892 Flora left the family home taking her youngest son Cormac with her. She didn’t
return for her eldest son’s 21st birthday in 1893. It was noted that the Skeffington family
were 'conspicuous by their absence'. Her sister (Anna Louisa Hilton) visited Lord
Muskerry and afterwards wrote him a letter. He brought her to court for libel. The case was
expected to last a number of days and attracted huge attention. Her sister apologised and
undertook not to repeat the charge and the case was withdrawn. Flora died at La Pavillon,
Taden, Côtes-d'Armor, France the residence of her brother Thomas on 28 Dec 1902. Her
brother sent a telegram to her husband in which it asked for advice on the funeral
arrangements but got no response. He sued her husband in 1904 for the cost of the
funeral and it was reported that the couple had been separated by deed on 3 Aug 1893.

Eva Susan Bolton of the Island, Kilmuckridge daughter of William Bolton on
05.01.1904 at Kilmuckridge Parish Church, Kilmanagh, Wexford. Hamilton died on
30.07.1907 aged 33 years in India.
2 Robert Matthew Deane-Morgan born 14.11.1874 at Trimleston Villa, Merrion.
Robert married Charlotte Jane Irvine daughter of John Irvine of St Aidan’s, Ferns,
Wexford on 11.07.1906. Witness Flora Fitzmaurice Deane-Morgan. Robert (Lord
Muskerry) died on 14.07.1952 aged 77 years at his home Springfield Castle,
Drumcolloher, Limerick. He was succeeded by his brother Matthew. Charlotte
died on 27.07.1960 aged 88 years at Springfield, Newcastle West.
3 Matthew Chichester Cecil Fitzmaurice Deane-Morgan born 03.11.1875 at 98
Lower Baggot Street, Dublin. Matthew of the Penisular and Oriental Steamship
‘Persia’ married Helen Henrietta Blennerhassett Harman daughter of
Rodolphe Harman on 08.06.1915 at Holy Trinity Church, Brompton, London.
Helen died on 11.09.1952 at her residence St Ernans, Donegal. Matthew
succeeded his brother in 1952 and died 03.05.1954 at his home St Ernan’s,
Donegal.
4 Flora Fitzmaurice Deane-Morgan born 27.04.1882 at 44 Fitzwilliam Place, Dublin.
Flora was living with her father in 1901 at Springfield. Flora married Edward St
George Tottenham Irvine of St Aidan’s, Ferns son of Captain Edward Tottenham
Irvine on 31.10.1906 at St Iberius’ Church, Wexford. They were divorced in 1915.
Flora married secondly Commander William Rodolph Skeffington Harman of the
Royal Navy on 19.08.1918 in Chelsea, London. Flora died on 10.03.1929 aged 46
years of Kitts Hayes, Colaton Raleigh, Devonshire.
5 Cormac Fitzmaurice Deane-Morgan born 25 Jun 1892 at Springfield Castle. He was
educated at the Dean Close School, Cheltenham and secured a first place
appointment with Vickers Maxim where is studied artillery. He was a temporary
assistant engineer and died in an explosion aboard the HMS Princess Irene on
27 May 1915 at Sheerness Harbour.
Lord Muskerry married a second and third time and died on 6 Jun 1929 in Cranford.
