Richard Henry Archibald M’Comas third son of Archibald M’Comas, a merchant of Cliff Castle, Dalkey
and his wife Ann. He graduated Trinity and was admitted to the bar in 1875. He was a barrister
living as Cliff Castle, Dalkey and married Susannah Alice Goodman on 28 Jan 1875 in Dublin.
Susannah was the daughter of Christian Goodman, a merchant of Ailesbury Road. They lived at
Homestead from 1875 to 1890. They were living at Pembroke House, 61 Pembroke Road by 1901.
Susannah died in Cheltenham on 28 Aug 1907 shortly after their daughter Sybil died there. Richard
died 22 Feb 1918 at Elgin Road and left 40k in personal estate, probate to his daughter Mabel.
1 Mabel Christine Jane M’Comas born 12 Dec 1875 at Lansdowne Road. Mabel was a
missionary worker and was living with her sister in law Winifred at Wimborne, Dorset in
1921.
2 Sybil Frances M’Comas born 23 Dec 1876 at Homestead, Dundrum died in Cheltenham on
21 Aug 1907.
3 Edwin Archibald N M’Comas born 19 Dec 1877 at Homestead, Dundrum graduated Trinity.
He took Holy orders and was appointed to the vicarage of Whitegate in 1914 having been a
curate at Wakefield and Southwell. He married Mary Metcalf-Gibson on 18 Apr 1914. His
brother Gerald officiated. Edwin died at the White House in Ravenstonedale on
18 May 1945 and left 7k in personal estate.
4 Harold M’Comas born 15 Sep 1879 at Homestead, Dundrum. Harold was an engineer and
worked for Public Works Department in India. He married Winifred Mary Lee in 1915. He
died in Wimborne on 9 Oct 1918 and left 15k in personal estate.
5 Cyril H M’Comas third son born 28 Apr 1881 at Homestead, Dundrum. He was an MD of
Market Harborough, Leicestershire and married Hilda Mary Claude Davidson-Houston at St
John’s Church on 3 Jul 1907. Claude was the daughter of the late Rev B C Davidson-Houston,
MA Vicar of St John’s, Sandymount.

6 Gerald Everard M’Comas born 14 Mar 1882 at Sydenham Terrace, Dublin living at Pembroke
House at 1910. He took Holy orders and was living in Bury, Lancashire in 1911. He was vicar
of St Mary’s Vegreville, Alberta and was appointed to Fort Saskatchewan in 1915.
7 Olive M’Comas born 20 May 1883 at Homestead, Dundrum was living with her sister in law
Winifred at Wimborne, Dorset in 1921.
8 Reginald M’Comas born 13 Apr 1885 at Homestead, Dundrum married Beatrice M Collet in
1918 and was living at Hoddesdon Urban, Hertfordshire in 1921. He was a poultry farmer and
died in 1963 at Bournemouth.
9 Rupert M’Comas born 19 Aug 1886 at Homestead, Dundrum. Rupert was a planter living at
Elgin Road and married Enid Irene Barrington on 16 Dec 1914 at St Bartholomew’s. Enid was
the daughter of Jonathan Pim Barrington, a merchant and was living at 12 Morehampton
Road.
