Robert Marchbank born circa 1800 was a printer of Stafford Street. He married Catherine circa
1825. Catherine died 7 Sep 1847 aged 50 and was buried at Mount Jerome. Robert died
1 Jun 1867 at 13 Stafford Street and was buried with his wife.
1 James William Marchbank born circa 1827. He was a stationer, he married Fanny Hoban
on 6 Jan 1852 at St Paul’s Church. He moved to Athlone by 1858 and ran a general printing
office at Mardyke Street (adjoining the Royal Hotel). Fanny died at Mardyke Street on
25 Jan 1888 and died 30 Nov 1892 at Garden Vale, Athlone. James was buried at Cornamagh
cemetery. His brother Robert is executor.
2 Robert Marchbank born circa 1828 in Dublin was a printer of Stafford Street. He married
Margaret Anna Gordon on 24 Apr 1877 at Booterstown Parish Church. Margaret was the
daughter of Alexander Gordon of Booterstown Avenue. Robert died 1907 at Booterstown
House, 52 Booterstown Avenue and was buried at Mount Jerome. Margaret died 19 Jan 1933
aged 75 at 11 Park View Avenue, Harold’s Cross and was buried with her husband.
1 Catherine Millington Marchbank born 19 May 1878 at Templeville, Booterstown
Avenue. Catherine married Arthur Thomas Poole at SS Philip & James on the
14 Jul 1903. Arthur was a commercial traveller living in Edinburgh and the son of
Arthur Samuel Poole, jeweller.
2 Robert Gordon (Bertie) Marchbank born 28 Sep 1879 at Booterstown. He was a cycle
agent and died 12 May 1902 at Booterstown House. He was buried at Mount Jerome.
3 Alexander Gordon Marchbank born 3 Sep 1880 at Penralt, Booterstown Avenue. He
was a printer married Harriet Gordon on 25 Jan 1901 at Stillorgan Parish Church.
Harriet was the daughter of Patrick Cooper, a butler living at Dunstaffnagh Cottage,
Stillorgan. Alexander died 26 Jan 1958 and Harriet died 2 May 1955 at Inishowen,
Donegal.

Elizabeth Hutchen Neill on 4 Sep 1919 at the Free Church of Scotland in st Thomas’ parish,
Dublin. They lived at Albert Road, Sandycove.

8 Francis Nassau (Frank) Marchbank born 12 Jul 1891 at Bootertown House, Booterstown
Avenue. He was a litho artist in 1911. He enlisted and served with the King's Liverpool
Regiment. He was Killed in Action in France on 15 Sep 1916. He is remembered on the
family headstone at Mount Jerome.
