William Maher born circa 1876 at Johnstown, Kilkenny. William, a signalman was living at
Rosemount Dundrum in 1901 and at Foxrock when he married Mary Lanigan at Holy Cross
Chapel Dundrum on 29 Jun 1904. Mary living at Riversdale, Dundrum was the daughter of
James Lanigan, a labourer. William was a signal man living in a house owned by John Low
of Lynwood, Dundrum in 1911 and only two of their four children had survived. They were
living at Knocksinna gatelodge by 1926 and were still there in 1929.
1 Elizabeth Maher born 26 Dec 1904 Jacob Street, Kilkenny. She was a waitress at a
hotel owned by John Wilson in 1926 and living with her parents. She married Sidney
Campbell at Foxrock Church on 24 Apr 1929. Sidney was a gardener living at
Avonmore and was the son of Thomas Campbell, a butler.
2 Thomas Francis Maher born 31 Jan 1908 at Willow Bank Cottage, Dundrum a railway
porter in 1926 living with his parents.
3 Patrick Maher born 25 Sep 1909 at Willow Bank Cottage, Dundrum died same place
on 29 Dec 1909.
4 John Kyran Maher born 29 Dec 1911 at Willow Bank Cottage, Dundrum.
3 William Valentine Maher born 15 Feb 1913 at Sandyford/Dundrum living with his
parents in 1926.
5 Gerard Albert Maher born 19 Jan 1916 at Cornelscourt living with his parents in
1926.
