John Ladd born circa 1812. He was an accountant and married Mary Geary in 1839 in Cork.
Mary was the daughter of Thomas Geary of Douglas Street, Cork. John was a pointed a
trustee of the Presbyterian congregation of Cork in 1857. Mary ran a dress shop at Grand
Parade until 1877. She died 2 Jan 1885 at Grand Parade. John died a widower on 11 Feb 1892
at 43 Grand Parade, Cork.
1 William Ladd eldest son born circa 1844 in Cork City. He married Kate Low on
17 Nov 1870. Kate was the daughter of Edward Low. Kate died at Grand Parade on
21 Jun 1897. William, a widower was living with two of his daughters at Grand Parade
in 1901 and died at Grand Parade on 27 Sep 1903.
2 Thomas Ladd born circa 1846 in Cork married Anna Varian on 17 Aug 1872 at the
Presbyterian Church on Stephen’s Green. Anna was the daughter of Isaac Stephen
Varian. Thomas was a commercial traveller living at Talbot Street.
3 John Isaac Ladd third son born circa 1847 married Deborah Buckley on the 23 Apr 1874
at Holy Trinity Church, Cork. Deborah was the daughter of William Patrick Buckley, a sea
captain. John was an accountant and secretary of the Cork Loan Society. He died
17 Aug 1887 at Grand Parade, Cork, his brother Ralph the informant and his wife his
executor. Deborah was housekeeper to the Varians at Garnaville in 1911. She died at
Cork Hospital aged 71 on 4 Jul 1927.
4 Richard Amos Ladd born circa 1851 was an accountant. He died unmarried at Grand
Parade on 8 Apr 1881.
6 Ann Amelia Ladd born circa 1854 died April 1859 at Grand Parade.
5 Ralph Varian Ladd born circa 1855 in Cork married Elizabeth Luscombe Lavers on
18 Jul 1889 at Fermoy. Elizabeth was the daughter of the late William Luscombe Lavers
of Ballydoyle, Castletownroche and Holwell, Devonshire. They had six children and were
living at Castletown Roche in 1911.
6 Mary Jane Ladd only surviving daughter born circa 1859 died 4 Jan 1866 at Grand Parade.
