David Killingley born 17.11.1865 at 2 Westbourne Place, Queenstown Cork. He was the son of
William Hackett Killingley, a teacher and Anna Clare Thacker. He lived at Enderley from 1889 to
1890. He took Holy orders and was ordained in 1890 and was curate of Clonmel until 1894.
He married Belle Charlotte Grevatt Taylor on 02.10.1893 at St Mary's Church, Clonmel. Belle
was the daughter of James Wilson Taylor of Albert Street, Sligo. He was appointed Incumbent
of Kilcoran in 1894 and became Vicar of Whitechurch in 1900. He retired die to ill health in
1941. Belle died 20.02.1947 at Mercers Hospital late of Springfield, Rathfarnham. David died
shortly after Belle's funeral on 24.02.1947 at Bloomfield Donnybrook, late of Springfield,
Rathfarnham. Bot are buried at Whitechurch.
1 Hastings Grevatt Killingley born 04.03.1895 at the Rectory, Kilcoran, Wexford a
Lieutenant with the Dublin Fusiliers was killed in action on 23.10.1916 aged 21 years
at the Battle of the Somme on the Ridge at Les Boeufs. Remembered on the Thiepval
Memorial, France and Whitechurch Parish Church.
2 Arthur Victor Killingley born 24.04.1897 at the Rectory, Kilcoran, Wexford. Arthur a
schoolmaster married Phyllis Hamilton French of Oakley Park, Blackrock only child of
Henry Percy French of 5 Dartmouth Square, Dublin on 10.08.1927 at All Saints Church,
Newtownpark, Blackrock, Co Dublin.
3 Lieut Colonel Dermot Mac Dowell Killingley born 12.11.1900 at the Rectory, Kilcoran,
Wexford. Dermot married Iris Florence Martin in 1940 at Dehra Dun in Bengal, India.
Dermot served with the Indian Army from 1920 to 1948.
4 Doris Mabel MacDowell Killingley born 10.03.1904 at Whitechurch Vicarage. In 1939 Doris
an unmarried secondary school teacher was living in Yorkshire.
