Thomas Keane born 11 Jan 1881 at Downes, Newcastle, Co Wicklow son of James Kane, a
labourer and his wife Catherine Kelly. He was farmer’s assistant working at Kilcoole and
married Ellen Osborne on 24 May 1904 at St Kevin’s, Glendalough. Ellen was the daughter
of Michael Osborne, a farmer and Mary Wickham. Ellen was living with her widowed
mother and brothers Alexander and William at Derrybawn, Brockagh in 1901 and working
as a servant. Thomas was a farm labourer/gardener and worked at Lakelands from 1909
to 1911. Ellen died 17 Oct 1936 at Granite Cottage, Windy Arbour, her son James the
informant. Thomas died 31 Mar 1958 at Derry Park, Crumlin, the residence of his daughter
late of Granite Cottage. Both are buried at Deansgrange.
1 Mary Keane born 27 Mar 1905 at Kilcoole, Co Wicklow. Mary worked as a domestic
servant and married John Craven at Holy Cross Church, Dundrum on 10 May 1933.
John was a labourer living on the Kilmacud Road and was the son of Christopher
Craven.
2 James Gerrard Keane (Kane) born 10 May 1909 at Lakelands, Dundrum. James was
a tram conductor living at Windy Arbour and married Margaret Byrne on 28 Sep 1937
at Our Immaculate Lady of Refuge in Rathmines. Margaret of Rugby Villas, was the
daughter of Thomas Byrne, a silk weaver. They lived at Derry Road Crumlin.
3 Bridget Keane (Kane) born 30 Jun 1914 at Windy Arbour, Dundrum died 8 May 1915.
