Richard Julian of Birr married Mary Courteney. Richard died on 3 Apr 1839, his wife Mary his
executor. Mary died a widow on 14 Jan 1848 at Parsonstown.
1 John Julian 1st son born circa 1808 served his apprenticeship with John Pollock, Dublin
and was admitted attorney in 1832. John a solicitor of Parsonstown married Catherine
Heenan on 4 Feb 1839. Catherine was the daughter of the late John Heenan, MD of
Parsonstown. He had his offices at 2 Grenville Street in 1839, 56 Sackville Street in
1841, 11 Lower Mount Street from 1845 and Lower Merrion Street in 1852. He took
Henry Cuthbert of Parsonstown on as his apprentice in 1846. Catherine died at
Drumbawn in December 1864. His sister in law Mary Heenan who lived at Drumbawn
died in 1874.
1 Son Julian born 21 Jan 1846 at Lower Mount Street.
2 Edith Florence Julian born circa 1849. As only surviving daughter died at
Drumbawn circa 3 Nov 1869.
3 Son Julian born 22 Jun 1853 at Drumbawn, Parsonstown.
4 Richard Francis Julian February 1855 at Drumbawn, Parsonstown. He was a 2nd
lieutenant in the King’s County Militia in 1878 and lieutenant in 1879. He
emigrated and was living with his brother Robert in Manitoba in 1881. He was
living in Manitoba with his wife Kathleen and their four children in 1901 and died
in 1916. He was thought to have died circa 1901 by his family.
5 Robert Edward Julian born 18 Mar 1856 at Drumbawn emigrated to Canada in 1880.
He married Lilian and was living in Manitoba in 1891 and died in Canada in 1923.
He was though to have died circa 1901 by his family.
He was living at of 72 Eccles Street and secondly married Margaret Parsons on 20 Aug 1874
at St Georges Church, Dublin. Margaret was the daughter of Laurence Parsons of
Oxmanstown Place and Parsonstown, Kings County and his wife Rebecca Catherine Lawder.
He was crown solicitor and they lived at Frankfort from 1881 until his death in 1893. He
died 5 Jan 1893 at Frankfort, his son Charles the informant. He left 9k in personal estate and
probate was to his widow Margaret. He is buried in Mount Jerome. Margaret was living in
Crosthwaite Park in 1901 and in Leeson Street in 1911. She died 8 Jul 1923 at 52 Leeson
Street aged 85. She left all her property to Lieutenant General Sir Lawrence Worthington
Parsons, but he died three weeks after her so the estate went to his wife, Lady Florence
Anna Parsons nee Graves who died in 1931. The estate then went to their daughter Nora
Kathleen Robertson nee Parsons which resulted in a court case in 1942. The case revolved
around a claim by Mrs Emily Patrick Julian of Vancouver, British Columbia that John’s two
sons from his 1st marriage we still alive in 1901.
3 Charles John Julian born 19 Jul 1876 at 72 Eccles Street educated at Charterhouse.
He joined the Royal Artillery in 1896. He was a lieutenant in the O Battery Royal
Horse Artillery and died unmarried on 6 Nov 1901 at Perityphlitis, Vryheid, Transvaal,
South Africa late of 24 Crosthwaite Park, Kingstown. He left 3k in personal estate
and administration was to his brother Ernest Lawrence Julian.
4 Ernest Laurence Julian born 28 Jul 1879 at 72 Eccles Street. His parents lived at
Frankfort, Dundrum from 1881 to 1894. He was educated at the Charterhouse School,
graduated Trinity College and was admitted Kings Inns and called to the Irish bar in
1903. He was a practicing barrister living in Leeson Street with his mother in 1911.
He got the position of Reid Professor of Law in Trinity College. He enlisted in 1914
and was a lieutenant in the 7 Battalion Royal Dublin Fusiliers. He died of wounds
sustained after leading his men during the assault on Chocolate Hill, Gallipoli,
Dardanelles on 7 Aug 1915. He died onboard a hospital ship on 9 Aug 1915 and was
buried at Sea. He left 9k in personal estate and probate was to his mother. He is
remembered on the Helles Memorial and Ireland, National Roll Of Honour 1914-1921.
