1 Susan Bird born circa 1798 married James Drought. Susan died 21.01.1876 at
Banagher, Kings County. James's brother Captain R Drought fought as the Kyber
Pass. James was a JP and High Sheriff for King’s County and they lived at Ballybritt
House. James died on 19.01.1866 at 74 Ballymore Terrace, Ranelagh Road late of
Banagher aged 67 and Susan was his executor. He was buried at Ballyboy graveyard
near Tullamore. Susan died on 21.01.1876 at Banagher.
2 John James Bird born circa 1801. John of Banagher a physician and surgeon son of
William Bird a surgeon married Hannah Maria Moore of Mountjoy Square daughter
of Garrett Moore on 07.08.1845 at St George’s Parish Church, Dublin. Witnesses John
Hubert Moore and Walter Seymour. John died on 28.01.1854 aged 52 years of
malignant typhus fever caught in the discharge of his professional duty. Hannah
died 20.09.1890 aged 64 years at 38 Lower Leeson Street. Informant W Seymour Bird.
Probate to daughter Charlotte. Hannah a widow died on 30.09.1890 aged 64 years at
38 Lower Leeson Street. Informant W Seymour Bird.
1 William Seymour Bird first son born circa 1846 at Kings County was educated
at Trinity College Dublin. He was called to the Bar in 1870 and took silk in 1880.
He was appointed County Court Judge to Cork West Riding in 1892. He moved
to Churchtown House circa 1908 and in 1910 was co-opted to the council of the
Royal Horticultural Society. He won numerous prized for his plants and flowers
at local shows. He resigned as county court judge in 1915 and from the council
of the the RHS in 1916. He was very proud of his alpine garden and rockery. He
died unmarried on 01.06.1919 aged 73 years at Churchtown House. William
was a nephew of Susan Drought (wife of James Drought). He left personal estate
of 7k and his property was divided in equal shares between his two sisters. He
was buried at Mount Jerome.
2 Dr John Drought Bird born circa 1850 of married Elizabeth Rosina (Rose)
Bertram on 15.04.1873 at St Michael’s Church, Queenstown, South Africa.
John died 14.12.1902 aged 52 years at Potchefstroom South Africa and Rose
died on 23.11.1926 at Churchtown House, Dundrum. Informant C Bird,
sister-in-law.

2 Hubert Bertram Drought Bird born 27.09.1879.
3 Marie Shepstone Drought Bird born 29.04.1882 at 20 Upper
Pembroke Street.
4 Olivetti Drought Bird born circa 1887 South Africa.
5 Hannah Moore Drought Bird youngest child born circa 1889 South
Africa died 19.07.1925 at Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire. Probate to
Olivette Drought Bird.
3 Charlotte Bird elder daughter born circa 1851 Kings County. Charlotte and her
sister Susan continued to care for the gardens and entered competitions.
Charlotte died unmarried on 08.05.1933 at her residence Churchtown House,
Dundrum.
4 Hubert Moore Bird youngest son born 16.06.1852 joined the Indian Civil Service
in 1870. He was appointed the commissioner of Allahabad. He was retired by 1911
and lived with his siblings at Churchtown House. He died unmarried on 18.04.1824
aged 76 years at Churchtown House and was buried at Mount Jerome.
5 Susan Drought Bird born circa 1854 Kings County died unmarried on 11.01.1940
aged 86 years at Harlech Nursing Home, Dundrum. Informant Olivetti Barclay
niece.
