Joseph Mooney born circa 1857 son of James and Catherine Mooney of Portmarnock. Joseph
was a gardener at Loughlinstown House when he married Margaret Crowe on 14.09.1890 at
St Mary’s Church, Haddington Road. Mary was living at the rear of 48 Lansdowne Road and
was the daughter of Michael and Margaret Crowe of Ballinacarrig, Co Wexford. Joseph was a
gardener at Ashton Park and lived at the gatelodge from 1900 to 1911. Margaret died
16.11.1905 at Sir Patrick Dun’s Hospital late of Ashton Park and is buried at Deansgrange.
Joseph died 02.01.1911 at Ashton Park, the informant his daughter Eveline. He is buried at
Deansgrange.
1 Mary Mooney born 03.05.1891 at Loughlinstown. Mary of 11 Tivoli Road, Kingstown
married Joseph Thomas McCann a lightkeeper of 36 Mulgrave Street, Kingstown son of
Joseph McCann on 15.09.1919 at the Roman Catholic Church of Kingstown. Witnesses
Patrick McCann and Margaret Mooney.
2 Eveline Margaret Mooney born 07.11.1893 at Carrickmines. Eveline was living with her
uncle Laurence and aunt Catherine Mooney in 1911 at 33 Burrow North, Malahide.
3 Margaret Mooney born 07.09.1895 at Carrickmines. Margaret married Gordon Hay on
14.09.1926 at the Roman Catholic Church of the Three Patrons, Rathgar. Gordon was a
game keeper and widower of Oakland, Rathgar and the son of James Johnson.
4 Michael James Mooney born 26.09.1897 at Brennanstown, Cabinteely. Residence
Barrington’s Hill. Michael died on19.09.1946 aged 47 years at 2 Brighton Square and is
buried at Deansgrange with his parents. Informant Margaret Hay.
5 Bridget Josephine Mooney born 04.03.1900 at Ashtown Park Lodge. Bridget was living
with her aunt Hannah Crowe at Tara Hill, Courtown in 1911.
