Patrick McBride born circa 1802 married Sydney Campbell on 21 Aug 1831 at the Pro
Cathedral. He was a victualler of Great Britain Street and Cole’s Lane and died on
20 Mar 1866 at 55 Great Britain Street. Sydney took over the business and continued to
trade with her son. Sydney died a widow on 2 Sep 1888 at 39 Grosvenor Square.
1 Elizabeth McBride baptised at the Pro Cathedral on 11 Nov 1832 married Patrick
Roderick O’Connor on 25 Aug 1868 at St Patrick’s, Phibsboro. Elizabeth was living at
Phibsboro and Patrick was an auctioneer of Brunswick Street. Witness; Sidney
McBride. They were living at Windsor Terrace Bray in 1880 and Roderick was a
pawnbroker.
1 Patrick Joseph O’Conor born circa 1869 in Dublin was a commercial clerk living
with his mother at Eccles Street in 1901.
2 Terence A O’Conor born 1876 in Bray living with his mother at Grosvenor Road
in 1911.
3 Elizabeth O’Connor born circa 1882 in Co Wicklow living with her uncle Francis at
Grosvenor Road in 1911 in Dublin.
2 Francis McBride born circa 1837 in Dublin City was a JP and a member of the RDS. He
died unmarried a retired victualler at his residence 39 Grosvenor Square on 18 Nov 1921.
3 Patrick John McBride baptised at the Pro Cathedral on 28 Jun 1843 a widower and
retired victualler living with his sister Elizabeth at Grosvenor Road in 1911.
4 John McBride baptised at the Pro Cathedral on 9 Feb 1845. He was a victualler living at
34 upper Baggot Street and married Mary Lynch on 11 Sept 1877 at St Andrews,
Westland Row. Mary was living at D’Olier Street and was the daughter of Michael Lynch.
Witness’; Jane McBride and Francis McBride. John was a JP and on Pembroke UDC. They
were living at Drommartin House from 1890 to 1894 and at Pembroke Road in 1901 and
1911 and had no children. John died 4 Aug 1924 at 37 Pembroke Road, his brother
Matthew the informant.
5 Jane McBride baptised at the Pro Cathedral on 21 Nov 1841 in Dublin City married James
O’Connor on 11 Oct 1892 at Holy Cross Church, Dundrum. Witness’; Sidney McBride and
Thomas Curran. James was a Fenian, journalist and politician. Jane was widowed in 1910
and living with her brother at 39 Grosvenor Square in 1911. She died same place on
5 Nov 1922 and was buried at Glasnevin. Given her age it is unlikely that she and James
had any children.
6 Matthew McBride baptised at the Pro Cathedral on 1 Dec 1846. He was a victualler living
at Pembroke Road in 1901 and 1911 with his brother John. He died unmarried 6 Feb 1829
at Pembroke Road aged 81. E O’Connor the informant.
7 Joseph McBride baptised at the Pro Cathedral on 10 Feb 1850. He was a victualler and of
the firm of McBride Bros, Upper Baggot Street. He died a bachelor at the residence of his
brother at 39 Grosvenor Square on 2 Jul 1890.
8 Sidney McBride born circa 1856 in Dublin city was living with her brother Francis at
Grosvenor Square in 1901. She died unmarried on 16 Aug 1906 at 39 Grosvenor Square.
