John Kingston James born circa 1784 was a wholesale wine and West Indies Merchant. He was elected
Sheriff of Dublin for 1811–12 and an alderman of Dublin Corporation in 1818. He married Charlotte
Rebecca Cash on 15 Apr 1812 at St Georges’ Dublin. Charlotte was the daughter of Alderman John
Cash. He was Lord mayor of Dublin in 1822 and in 1840. He was created a baronet in 1823, 1st Baron
James of the City of Dublin. He was an agent for Albion Life, Phoenix Fire Insurance and Crown Life
Assurance companie and was based at 9 Cavendish Road from 1845. He was a director of the Dublin
Steam Packet Company along with three of his sons. Sir John died 28 Jan 1869 at 9 Cavendish Row,
Rutland Square and left 30k in personal estate. Lady Charlotte died 5 Oct 1875 at 9 Cavendish Row.
Both are buried at Mount Jerome.

2 John Kingston James eldest son born 26 Feb 1815 baptised at St Georges was with the 6th
Dragoons and became the second Baronet and succeeded as the 3rd Baronet James, of the
City of Dublin. He died 23 May 1893 at Tunbridge Wells.
3 Francis Edward James second son born 11 May 1816 baptised at St Georges. He was a
merchant and married Helen Donald Fullarton on 9 Jan 1849 at Kerelaw, Ayrshire and they
moved to Rich View, Clonskeagh. Helen was the daughter of the late John Fullarton and the
niece of Gavin Fullarton of Kerelaw. Francis was living at Cavendish Row in 1869,
Morehampton Road in 1875 and was running his father’s business. Francis was retired and the
family were at Kensington by 1881. Francis died on 1 Oct 1886 at Marlborough Buildings, Bath.
Helen a widow living with four of her children at Torquay in 1911. Helen died on 28 Jan 1917
aged 88 and was buried at Torquay.

15 Oct 1849.
2 Son James born March 1851 at Morehampton Terrace.
3 John Kingston Fullarton James eldest son born 1 Dec 1852 graduated Trinity. He married
Frances Isabella Wilkinson on 13 May 1841 at Greenock, Renfrewshire. He was appointed
Knight in 1854 and succeeded as the 3rd Baronet James of the City of Dublin in 1893. He
died 23 March 1893. No issue found.
4 Helen Donald Fullarton James born 23 Jan 1853 at 2 Eglinton Terrace, Wellington Road
baptised at St Peters. She died unmarried on 26 Mar 1945 at Highfield Drumcondra and
left 15k in personal estate.
5 Mary Ann Fullarton James born 26 May 1854 at Morehampton Terrace died unmarried on
16 Nov 1942 in Sussex.
6 Charlotte Helen Frances James born 27 Feb 1856 at Wellington Road baptised at St
Stephens died 25 Jul 1865 at St Philip’s Milltown.

8 Gavin Fullarton James born 1 Sep 1859 at Sidmonton Bray was a barrister. He inherited the
estate of his uncle Gavin Fullarton of Kerelaw. He succeeded as the 4th Baronet James of
the City of Dublin in 1933. He lived at 45 Moulpilke Road, Brighton in 1921. He died
unmarried on 12 Oct 1937 at Hastings and left 4k in personal estate.
9 Francis Edward James born 21 May 1861 at Sidmonton, Bray. He was a modern language
translator and died unmarried on 16 Jul 1932 at Pimlico. He left 4k in personal estate.
10 Edward Albert James born 15 Sep 1862 at Beaumaris, North Wales. He succeeded as the
5th Baronet James of the City of Dublin in 1937. He died unmarried on 6 Dec 1942 and left
10k in personal estate.
11 Fullarton James born 15 May 1864 at Clarinda Park, Kingstown. He was a Chief Constable
County Constabulary and married Helen Mary Hitchens in 1899 at Windsor. They had twin
daughters (Penelope & Isabel) in 1901. He succeeded as the 6th Baronet James of the City
of Dublin in 1942. He died 19 Jul 1955 and left 36k in personal estate. The title became
extinct as he had no male heir.
12 Alice Charlotte Isabel James born circa 1865 died unmarried on 15 Apr 1887 at Marlborough
Buildings, Bath.
