Hugh O’Connor born circa 1801 son of Valentine O’Connor and Mary Henchy. He was a wine
merchant of Great Denmark Street and married Eliza Cashin on 20.06.1828 at the Pro Cathedral.
Elizabeth was the 2nd daughter of late Edmund Cashin of Tramore. Hugh died 01.02.1836 at 36
Upper Sackville Street, Dublin and was buried in a vault at the Pro Cathedral. After Hugh’s
death, Elizabeth went into partnership with her brother-in-law Valentine O’Brien O’Connor and
that was dissolved in 1853 when her sons Hugh and Valentine came of age. Elizabeth lived at
Trimleston from 1848 to 1854. She died at St Helena’s, Eglington Road, the home of her niece
Miss Katherine Mary Sweetman on 11.01.1891.

2 Hugh O’Connor eldest son born 18.12.1830 at Great Denmark Street married Julia
Mary Thunder 4th daughter of Michael Thunder of Lagore on 02.09.1863 at the Parish
Church of Ratoath, Meath. Hugh and Julia were living at 28 Upper Phillimore Place,
Kensington in 1891. Hugh a retired merchant died on 03.08.1897 aged 67 years at 1
Kenilworth Square and is buried at Glasnevin. Informant E O’Connor 45 Montague
Mansions, Portmand Square, London. Probate to Julia O’Connor of the Sacred Heart
Convent, Mount Anville.
1 Maria Anna O’Connor born 25.07.1865 at James’s Terrace, Malahide and
baptised at Malahide. The only and beloved child died on 10.12.1880 aged 15
years at the Dominican Convent, Stone, Staffordshire, England.
3 Lieut Colonel Valentine O’Connor 2nd son baptised on 13.12.1831 at St Andrew’s
Roman Catholic Chapel, Dublin. Valentine married Victoria Caroline Busfield Crispin
only surviving child of late Captain William Crispin RN and ADC to the Queen on
19.07.1870 at St James’s Roman Catholic Church, Spanish Place, London. Victoria died
on 17.03.1883 at Bedford House, Southampton.

Valentine married Blanche Mary Emery daughter of Robert Emery of
Stafforshire in 1916 at Wandsworth, London. They were living at 54 Carlton
Mansions, Paddington in 1921 and in 1939.
4 Charles Joseph Wilfred O’Connor born 06.07.1879 at Idrone Terrace, Blackrock
of Headford Cottage, Avoca Avenue, Blackrock. Charles married Esther
Beaumont in 1906 at Marylebone. Charles was a chauffeur and in 1911 they
were living at 26B Buer Road, Fulham. Charles of 6 Highcliff Avenue,
Southampton died on 23.03.1958 at St Jude’s Nursing Home, Southampton.
Probate to Midland Bank.
Valentine late 47th and 80th Regiments married secondly Frances Ellen Ashton widow
of Francis Joseph Lush and eldest daughter of John Ashton of Cleveland Gardens, Castle
Hill, Ealing on 23.04.1887 at the Catholic Church, Bognor. The family lived at 8 Edward
Street, Bath in Somerset in 1881 and Station Road, Walmer, Eastry, Kent in 1891.
Valentine died 15.12.1909 at Bruges.

6 Eileen Elizabeth Catherine O’Connor born 1889 at Steyning, Sussex was living

4 Monica Mary O’Connor younger daughter born 18.05.1833 baptised at St Andrew’s
Church married Right Hon Rickard Morgan Deasy Baron of her Majesty’s Court of
Exchequer son of Rickard Deasy on 02.04.1861 at St John’s Roman Catholic Chapel,
Blackrock. Monica died on 24.03.1883 aged 50 years and Rickard died on 06.05.1883
aged 70 years both at 41 Merrion Square.
1 Lieut Richard Joseph Deasy born 16.04.1862 at 27 Merrion Square baptised at
St Andrew’s Church, Dublin. Rickard of the Kerry Militia died on 08.08.1881
aged 19 years at Beggar’s Bush Barracks.
2 Mary Elizabeth Deasy born 16.06.1864 at 27 Merrion Square North. Mary the
daughter of one of the Judges of HM the Queens Court of Exchequer died on
30.03.1871 at Carysfort House aged 6 years and 11 months.
3 Major Henry Hubert Peter Deasy born 29.06.1866 at 27 Merrion Square North
and baptised at St Andrew’s Church, Dublin. Henry of the 16th Lancers married
Dolores Mercedes Leocadia Gertrude Josephine Hickie younger daughter of Lt
Col James Francis Hickie of Slevoyre, Tipperary on 19.01.1901 at St James’s,
Spanish Place, Marylebone. Henry fought in the first World War. He was
awarded the Founders Gold Medal of the Royal Geographic Society for
exploration in the Far east and wrote the book In Tibet and Chinese Turkestan.
He patented the Deasy Motor Car. Dolores died on 03.09.1944 aged 72 years
and Henry died on 24.01.1947 aged 81 years both at Cnoc na Faire, Carrigahorig,
Tipperary.
5 Edmund O’Brien O’Connor baptised 28.02.1835 at St Andrew’s Church, Westland Row,
Dublin. Edmund married Mary Teresa Lyons daughter of Thomas Lyons of Waterview,
Passage West on 21.06.1881 at the Roman Catholic Chapel of Passage West. They lived
at 4 Phillimore Terrace, Kensington in 1891 and in 1901 at Montague Mansions,
Marylebone, London. Edmund died on 21.08.1905 at 17 Manor Road, Folkstone.
Probate to widow Mary Teresa O’Connor. Mary Teresa of Passage West died on
19.10.1908 aged 54 years at the North Infirmary, Cork. Probate to her brother-in-law
Sir Stanley Harrington. They are buried at Cheriton road Cemetery, Folkstone.

Hugh O’Connor born circa 1801 son of Valentine O’Connor and Mary Henchy. He was a wine
