Edward Francis Hewison born circa 1841 in Poplar, Middlesex 5th son of Rev Ralph Walker
Hewison of Croydon, Surrey. He married Mary Margaret Josephine Carvill in April 1893 at
Holyhead. Mary was the daughter of Joseph Thomas Carvill of Newry. Edward was a horse
owner, a judge for steeplechase races and a racing official for the Leopardstown race meeting.
They lived at Enderly Dundrum from 1894 to 1899. Edward died at his residence Tudor House,
Carlingford, the informant his son Edward. Mary died 09.02.1872 at Warrenpoint, probate to
her daughter Margery.
1 Geoffrey Joseph Hewison born 11.04.1895 at Enderley, Dundrum. In 1911 Geoffrey aged
15 years was at school at Clongowes. He intended to train as a dentist but enlisted in 1915.
Geoffrey of the 3rd Battalion Royal Munster Fusiliers was killed in action on 15.07.1916
aged 21 years and is interred at Departement de la Somme, Picardie, France.
2 Margery Mary Hewison born 29.11.1896 at Monte Vista, Dundrum. Margery married
Henry McAreavey son of John McAreavey on 30.04.1919 at the Roman Catholic Church
of St Gall and Columbanus, Milltown.
3 Edward Francis Reginald Hewison born 22.06.1904 at Zelda, Dartry Road. Edward a bank
clerk with the Munster & Leinster Bank died unmarried on 29.05.1932 at Bray aged 29
years of 15 Fitzwilliam Square following a motor accident at Woodbrook in Bray.
