George Abraham Heatley born circa 1823 son of John Heatley. He was a farmer when he
married widow Jane Jacob, daughter of Richard Jacob and the widow of William Brien on
30 Sep 1853 at Delgany Church. Jane died 16 Sep 1868 and is buried at Powerscourt.
George died a widower on 15 Nov 1887 at Glencormac Cottage in his 69th year, his son
Robert the informant. Funeral to Powerscourt and probate to the Rev Ernest H Whelan of
Herbert Road.
1 Martha Heatley born circa 1854 married Anthony Richard Sutton on 2 May 1874 at
Delgany Parish Church. Anthony was a carpenter and the son of George Sutton, a
carpenter.
2 John Jacob Heatley born circa 1856 in Co Wicklow. He married Emily Marcella Rice on
26 Aug 1892. Emily was living at Claddagh Cottage and was the daughter of John Rice.
John, a civil servant was retired by 1911 and they were at Dargle Road from where
John supplied strawberries and honey. Five of their seven children survived. John
died in 1944 at Somerton, Dargle Road Bray.

at Somerton.
3 George Heatley born circa 1858. He married Sarah Sherwood on 21 1884 at Oldcastle,
Co Meath. Sarah was the daughter of Henry Sherwood, a labourer. They were living at
Bray in 1911 and George was a member of Wicklow County Council and the Bray UDC.
Sarah died 1 Nov 1915 aged 61 at 1 Heatley Villas, Bray. George purchased Knocklinn in
1924. He died 24 Mar 1950 at Knocklinn, Ballymann Road, Bray. Both are buried at St
Patrick’s, Enniskerry.

dairy farmer and died 7 Nov 1918 at Sunnybank aged 33. He is buried at St Patrick’s,
Enniskerry.

4 Robert Edward Heatley born circa 1862 in Co Wicklow. He was a carpenter when he
married Harriet Annie Norman on 4 Jan 1894 at Bray Parish Church. Robert was a building
contractor and built the Technical Schools on Brighton Terrace. They were living at
Herbert Road, Bray in 1911 and five of their six children had survived. Robert died
3 Feb 1937 aged 74. Harriett died 4 Apr 1946. Both are buried at Powerscourt.
1 Edward Norman Heatley born circa 1895. He was with the ‘Pals’ battalion, Royal
Dublin Fusiliers from 1914 to 1918. He died 30 Dec 1920 aged 25.
2 Eveleen Annie Heatley born circa 1897 died 12 Aug 1983.
3 Robert Arthur Heatley born circa 1899 was a medical doctor. He was Chief Medical
Officer of the BB & GI Railway, India. He died at Bombay 4 Apr 1947.
4 Elizabeth Heatley born circa 1901 was headmistress of the French School, Toner House
on Sidmonton Place, Bray. She was secretly engaged to her cousin Richard Alexander
Norman for three years. This was revealed when he died in 1937 and left her 2k in his
will. She retired in 1966 and died 8 Mar 1977. She is buried at Powerscourt.

5 Mary Ellen Heatley born circa 1862 in Co Wicklow. She married widower Thomas James
Noble on 21 Jun 1905. Thomas was a farmer of Enniskerry and the son of Matthew Noble,
a farmer. She was living at Enniskerry with her husband and stepchildren in 1911. She died
15 Jan 1931 at Tonygarra and is buried at Powerscourt with her parents.
6 Frederick Charles Heatley born circa 1863 in Co Wicklow. He was a farmer of Glencormac
when he married Mary Elizabeth Fahy 20 Nov 1901 at Kilbride Church, Bray. Mary was living
at Bushy Park, Enniskerry and was the daughter of Reginald Fahy, a farmer. They were living
in Glencormac in 1911 and all of their five children had survived. Mary died 25 Mar 1932
aged 52 and is buried at Saint Patrick's Churchyard, Powerscourt, Enniskerry.
1 Seymore Frederick Heatley born 28 Mar 1903 at Glencormac. He was educated at
Mountjoy School and Trinity College. He was a medical doctor of Fitzwilliam Square,
and a fellow of the RCSI. He was a surgeon in the Royal Air Force and attained the rank
of lieutenant colonel. He was assistant surgeon to Seaton Pringle at Baggot Street
and appointed to the staff of Mercer’s Hospital in 1932. He married Kathleen P Foley
in 1933 in Birmingham and they had two daughters. He was involved in a car accident
in 1935. He stopped to help at the scene of a motor crash on the Stillorgan Road and
he and his companion were both seriously injured when a third vehicle crashed into
them. He recovered, became a devotee of cine film and filmed the College Races in
1937. In 1942 he moved to England to take up a post. He served in the RAMC during
WWII and was Chief Medical officer of a 1500 bed hospital in Brussels which became
the largest clearing station after the D-Day landings. He was awarded an OBE in 1946
in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in North West Europe. He returned
to Fitzwilliam Square in 1947. They were living at Churchtown House by 1950 and
Seymour and Kay were enthusiastic amateur rose growers having in excess of 1100
rose trees. They sold Churchtown House in 1960 and moved to Oughterard. Seymour
died at Owen Riff, Oughterard on 22 Jul 1967.
2 Reginald George (Reggie) Heatley born 13 Mar 1905 at Glencormac. He married Mary
Kathleen (May) Leeson on 11 Sep 1935 at St Patrick’s Enniskerry. Mary was resident at
Ballymahon House, Bray and was the daughter of John Leeson, a farmer. Reginald died
28 May 1967 and is buried at Saint Patrick's Churchyard, Powerscourt, Enniskerry.
3 Claire Heatley born 2 Jun 1906 in Glencormac living with her parents in 1926.
4 Ethel Kathleen Heatley born 22 Dec 1908 at Glencormac. She married Charles Richard
George Kempton on 6 Feb 1940 at Kilbridge Church, Bray. Charles was a grocer and the
elder son of C Kempton, gardener of Glencormac.
5 Myra Evelyn Heatley born 17 Dec 1910 at Glencormac. She married William Thomas
Leeson on 5 Oct 1938 at Kilbride Church, Bray. William was the son of John Leeson of
Ballymahon House, Bray.
6 Frederick Charles Heatley youngest son born 11 Aug 1913 at Glencormac. He was a
medical doctor and married Charlotte F Pike in 1939 at Huddersfield. Charlotte was the
second daughter of the late Canon William Pike, Thurles and Mrs Pike of Mount Merrion.
Frederick a widower of Knock Lynn, Bray. He secondly married Dorothy Charlotte Mason
on 6 Jul 1936 at Bray Parish Church. Dorothy was the daughter of Matthew Mason, a farmer
of Castle Street, Bray. Frederick died 20 Mar 1954.
7 Jane Heatley born 18 Dec 1864 at Glencormac. She married John McLennan on 26 Feb 1890
at Kilbride. John was a farmer and native of Scotland. They were living at Killough Lower near
Powerscourt in 1911 and all nine of their children had survived.
