William Hayes born circa 1804 was a law stationer, scrivener and stamp dealer of South
Anne Street. From 1835 to 1846 the family were living at South Anne Street, Dublin. By
1848 they were living at Trimleston and William was the lessee of another property with 20
acres on the estate. These residences were previously in the name of Joseph Hayes, Williams’
brother. William died 26.11.1859 at 36 College Green Dublin and was buried at Mount
Jerome. He left 3K in personal estate.
1 Edwin Thomas Cooper Hayes eldest son born circa 1836 a Solicitor of 65
Blessington Street married Catherine Fearon of Rostrevor, Down daughter of Edward
Fearon of 12 Westmoreland Street, Dublin on 20.09.1865 at St Mary’s Parish Church,
Dublin. The family were living at 10 Poplars Avenue, Willesden, Hendon, Middlesex in
1901. Edwin last surviving son died on 19.09.1908 aged 72 years at Rostrevor, Sunny
Gardens, Hendon, London. Catherine her sister Mary Fearon and son George were
living at 129 Audley Road, Hendon in 1911.
1 Elizabeth Catherine Hayes born 24.07.1866 and died April 1868 aged 20
months.
2 Edward Charles Hayes born 21.09.1868 at 70 Heytesbury Street, Dublin. Lt-Col
Edwin died on 10.02.1942 of 17 Sion Hill, Bath. Probate to daughter Mary
3 William Arnold Hayes born 15.02.1870 at 70 Heytesbury Street, Dublin.
4 Phoebe Stella Mary Hayes born 12.04.1872 at 56 Ranelagh Road, Dublin.
5 Kathleen Hayes born 18.04.1874 at 56 Ranelagh Road, Dublin.
6 George Hayes born 1877 at St Pancras.
7 Robert Hayes born 1879 Ireland.
8 Louisa Frances Hayes born 28.06.1880 at 17 Fairview.
2 Rev Stanley Hamilton Hayes 2nd son born circa 1838. Stanley of Lower Gloucester
Street married Elenora Lydia Mary Jeboult widow of Anthony McCulloch of the Bank of
Ireland and daughter of late Captain John Highmore Jeboult of the 41st Regiment on
27.08.1864 at St Thomas’s Parish Church, Dublin. The family were living at St Albans,
Hertfordshire in 1871. Eleanor’s mother was living with them.
Stanley married secondly Rebecca Farmer, daughter of Henry Farmar on 24.07.1891
at the Parish Church of St James, Radcliff.
3 Elizabeth Ada Hayes born circa June 1843 died March 1844 aged 10 months and is
buried at Mount Jerome.
4 Alfred Hayes died March 1845 aged 8 days and is buried at Mount Jerome.
5 Sarah Louisa Hayes youngest daughter born circa March 1846 and died of gastric fever
on 03.12.1852 aged 6 years and 9 months at Trimleston and is buried at Mount Jerome.
6 Henry John Hayes youngest surviving son born circa 1847 Dublin a bookseller married
Sarah Ann Packham daughter of George Packham of Brighton, Sussex on 13.10.1867 at
the Parish Church of St Nicholas, Ipswich, Suffolk.
7 James Hayes died July 1849 aged 2 days and is buried at Mount Jerome.
Elizabeth ran her late husband’s business until 1868. After William’s death Trimleston Villa was
put up for rent by Mrs Hayes who was residing at Dawson Street. Elizabeth a widow married
secondly Rev Robert Pakenham* a widower of Celbridge, Kildare on 20.09.1865 at the Parish
Church, Birkenhead. He was the son of Admiral Sir Thomas Pakenham. Elizabeth continued to
rent out Trimleston Villa as Mrs Pakenham. Elizabeth died on 22.10.1875 at Trimleston.

*Robert had previously been married to Harriet Maria Browne, daughter of Rt Hon Denis
Browne on 19.06.1829 at St George’s Church, Dublin. Harriet died on 23.05.1865 aged 57
years at Kingstown.
Robert married thirdly Elizabeth Sarah Whitelaw, daughter of Robert Whitelaw on 06.07.1876 by
special licence at 18 Crosthwaite Park East, Kingstown. Rev Robert Pakenham died on 30.12.1883
aged 84 years at Straffan. Probate to widow Elizabeth.
