Henry Harris born circa 1859 in England son of Henry Harris a caretaker. He was a gardener
working at St Anne's for the Guinness family and married Jane Keely daughter of James Keely
20 29.10.1881 at Clontarf Roman Catholic Church. They lived at Woodley Park in 1892 and
were at 18 Emmet Street, Harold's Cross by 1900. The family identified as Church of
Ireland in 1901 and 1911. Jane died 18.01.1913 at 18 Emmet Street and Henry died same
place on 09.01.1944.
1 Sarah Jane Harris born 25.01.1882 at Santry. Sarah died on 11.06.1921 aged 39
years at 18 Emmet Street, Harolds' Cross.
2 Margaret Harris born 16.01.1883 at Stranmillis, Belfast. Margaret a laundress married
Michael Nolan an engineer of 100 Duke Street, Glasgow on 26.07.1919 at the Roman
Catholic Church of Our Lady of Refuge, Rathmines.
3 Henry Harris born prematurely on 11.12.1883 at Stranmillis Road, Belfast and died on
12.12.1883 aged 1 day at same place.
4 Mary Harris born 12.05.1885 at the Rotunda Hospital of Clontarf. Mary married
Private Samuel Armstrong of Ship Street Barracks son of James Armstrong on
08.10.1917 at the Registrar’s Office, Dublin.
5 Fanny Harris born 25.10.1887 at Oaklawn, Bird Avenue, Dundrum and died of typhoid
on 31.12.1897 aged 10 years at 110 Harold's Cross Cottages.
6 Henry James Harris born 05.07.1890 at Oaklawn, Bird Avenue, Dundrum baptised at
Taney Church. Henry married Martha Best of 10 Emmet Street daughter of John Best
at Harold's Cross Parish Church on 19.09.1913.
7 Charles William Harris born 28.08.1892 at Woodley Park baptised at Taney Church.
Charles fell into the Grand Canal in 1900 when he was fishing and was rescued by
local man James Herron from Lullymore Terrace. Charles a shop assistant of 22
Drummond Place married Elizabeth (Lil) Gordon of 19 Emmet Street daughter of
John Philip Gordon on 23.06.1943 at Harold's Cross Parish Church. Elizabeth died at
the Meath Hospital late of 14 Emmet Street on 07.10.1949.
8 Elizabeth Catherine Harris born 13.10.1893 at 132 Dorset Street, Dublin and died
13.01.1896 aged 2¼ years at 110 Harold's Cross Cottages.
9 Robert Alner Harris born 20.12.1896 at 110 Harold's Cross Cottages. Robert married
Kathleen Delaney of 89 Bangor Road, Crumlin daughter of Patrick Delaney on
13.02.1944 at the Roman Catholic Church of St Agnes, Crumlin.
10 Charlotte Louisa Harris born 15.04.1898 at 110 Harold's Cross Cottages. Charlotte
married John Edward Keegan an engine driver of 16 Redfern Terrace and son of
Michael Keegan on 25.04.1920 at the Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady of Refuge,
Rathmines.
