Thomas Harding born circa 1763 took Holy orders. He ran a school as 15 Hardwicke Street
from 1811 and moved the school to Dundrum Castle in 1821. His terms for boarding were 44
guineas per annum and cards could be obtained from John Harding*, linen draper of 163
Brunswick Street. Thomas died 17 Oct 1829, his wife Jane his executor. Jane Elwood
Hardinge relict of Thomas Domville Hardinge of Dundrum Castle died 13 Jun 1853 at Notting
Hill.
1 George Harding born circa 1799 in Dublin graduated Trinity.
2 Henry Siree Harding born circa 1804 in Dublin graduated Trinity and took Holy
orders. He was of Leyton Hall, Kilmacud and married Frances Charlotte Betham on
2 Feb 1831 and they had at least seven children. Fanny was the youngest daughter
of Sir William Simon Betham, Ulster King of Arms and resident in Montpelier House.
Henry was instituted to the rectory of Theberton in 1841. In 1845 he was author of
‘New Principles of the Poor’ and some years later he published a book of poetry called
Creation. Fanny died 15 Jun 1848 aged 32 at Albert Terrace, Knightsbridge shortly
after giving birth. Henry died at Theberton, Suffolk after 23 years as incumbent on
28 Jan 1865.

2 Heber Thomas Hardinge eldest son born 23 May 1836 at Theberton. He was
Superintendent of Police and married Minnie Mead on 5 May 1858 at St John’s
London. He died 9 May at Beccles just three weeks after the death of his wife
Minnie.
3 Isabella Marie Fitz-Hardinge eldest daughter born circa 1839 in Suffolk. She
married Rev George Wilkinson Kershaw, vicar of Egmanton on 28 Sep 1858 at
Theberton.
4 Molineux Sheffield Crompton Fitzhardinge Hardinge born 1840 in Suffolk. He
married twice and died in 1890.
5 Letticia Elizabeth Louise Fitz Hardinge born 2 Jun 1843 at Theberton. She was a
governess and annuitant and died unmarried on 15 Feb 1907 at Dalkey. Her
nephew Noel Kershaw the informant.
6 Woolfield Henry Fitzhardinge Hardinge youngest son born 14 Mar 1846 in Nice.
He married Isabelle Jane Thompson on 2 Apr 1872 at Kirton, Notts.
7 Betham Melbourne FitzHardinge died an infant on 29 Jun 1848 at Albert Terrace,
Knightsbridge.
3 Augusta Maria Harding born circa 1813 married Rev Francis Tyrrell of Mullaghbrack,
Armagh at Bathwick, Somerset on 17 Jan 1837. They were living at Ashley, Milton,
Lymington, Hampshire in 1841 and 1861 and at St John Hampstead in 1871. Augusta
died on 1 Aug 1881 at Osborne Lodge, Bexley Heath.
1 Elizabeth Jane Tyrrell born circa 1839.
2 Francis Harding Tyrrell born circa 1841.
3 Gerald Rose Ossery Tyrrell youngest son died 13 Apr 1861 at Delamere Crescent.
4 Jane Harding second surviving daughter married George Frederick Simes on
10 Oct 1844 at Bath. George was the youngest son of John Thomas Simes of Highbury
Park, London.
*John Harding, linen draper of Britain Street and Brunswick Street bankrupt in 1838 was possibly a
brother to Rev Thomas Harding.
