Christopher Graham born circa 1852 in Co Tyrone son of the Rev Richard Christopher Graham
and Frances Caroline Skelton. He was a fellow and tutor at Caius College, Cambridge University
and later housemaster at Malvern College. He married Rachel Moore in Dublin on 6 Jun 1878.
Rachel was the daughter of Thomas Ottiwell Moore and Sarah Colbourne Bennett. They were
living in Wellington Lane, Ballsbridge in 1901, Fitzwilliam Street in 1911 and Christopher worked
as an Inspector of Reformatory and Industrial schools. Christopher died 1 Mar 1927 at 34
Waterloo Road, his daughter Rachel the informant. Rachel died at Castlecomber Rectory, the
residence of her son on 6 Jan 1934.
1 Christopher Graham eldest son born 14 Mar 1879 was educated at Gonville and Caius
College, Cambridge. took Holy orders and was a Chaplin in the Royal Navy. He married
Gertrude Russell, on 30 Jun 1908 at St George’s Church Gravesend. Gertrude was the
daughter of William Russell, JP of Bedford. He received an OBE in 1919. He was rector
of Cheddon Fitzpaine Sommerset from 1932 to 1947. He died 26 Nov 1956 at East
Harnham, Wiltshire.
2 Rachel Graham born circa 1880 Chesterton, Cambridgeshire. She worked at Brabazon
House, Sandymount in 1927 and a witness at her brother Thomas’ wedding in 1931. She
died unmarried on 23 Dec 1953 at Baggot Street Hospital.
3 Anna Lucia (Annie) Graham born 1881 living with her parents in 1911. She was a retired
missionary and died unmarried on 29 Nov 1965 at Baggot Street Hospital, late of 34
Waterloo Road, probate to her sister Frances.
4 Thomas Ottiwell (Togo) Graham born 25 Jan 1882 in Great Malvern, Worchester. He was
educated at St Faith’s and Perse’s Grammar School and Trinity College Dublin where he
studied medicine. He became a fellow of the RCSU in 1912. He then spent 2 years on
the continent where he studied at Vienna, Heidelberg and Freiburg. He joined the RAMC
on the outbreak of war. He attained the rank of major and was awarded the military Cross.
In 1919 he returned to Dublin and held various appointment at the Eye and Year, The
Richmond, Dr Steeven's and the National children’s Hospital. It was also a consultant to
the Ministry of Pensions. He married Susan Eva Sanctuary on 13 Jun 1918 at Dorset.
Susan was the daughter of the Rev Canon Charles Lloyd Sanctuary of Frampton Rectory,
Dorset. He specialised as an ENT surgeon and they lived at 61 Fitzwilliam Square. Susan
died 27 Feb 1926 aged 34 at Fitzwilliam Square and was buried at Mount Jerome.
1 Brenda Susan Graham born 8 Feb 1923 at Lower Baggot Street. Brenda married
Captain Brian Desmond Clark, MC at Velden, Austria in 15 Jan 1947. Brian was with
the Royal Irish Fusiliers.
Thomas secondly married May Gertrude Laird on 19 Aug 1931. May was the widow of
Francis Morrow Laird and lived at Palmerston Road. She was the daughter of George and
Mary Elizabeth Griffin. Thomas was president of the RCSI from 1942 to 1944 and they
lived at Whiteoaks (now University Lodge) from 1940 to 1949. Thomas died 19 Mar 1966 at
his home ‘Montrose’, 51 Merrion Road. His memorial service was held at Christ Church,
Leeson Park and he was buried with his first wife Susan at Mount Jerome.
5 George Frederick Graham born 1885 at Chesterton, Cambridgeshire was educated
at Cambridge and Trinity College, Dublin. He qualified as a medical doctor and joined the
Indian Medical Service and saw service at Mesopotamia, mentioned in dispatches and
severely wounded. He married Frances Mary Margaret Dempster on 28 Aug 1916 at
Bengal. Frances was a widow of James Lionel Cathcart Dempster and the daughter of
Alfred H Peyton of Sligo. He retired from the service in 1930 with the rank of Lieutenant
Colonel and set up practice in Milford. He was recalled to India for second world war and
returned after a few months. He died in Milford in June 1955 survived by his, wife son
and two daughters.
6 Henry Edwin Colles Graham born circa 1887 was educated at Trinity College, Dublin.
He took Holy orders and was appointed curate of Rathfarnham in 1910. He died
3 Aug 1918 at Funing, Foochou, South China.
7 Malcolm Moore Graham born circa 1889 was a theology student at Trinity College,
Dublin in 1911. He took Holy orders and was curate and later rector at Templemore,
Cloughjordan, Co Tipperary. He married Constance Kathleen Hilaré Vaughan on
14 Jul 1920 at Glenageary Church. Constance was the daughter of Joseph Sherlock
Vaughan and Mina Augusta Geary. Malcolm died on 3 Oct 1965 at Glencormac, Bray,
Co Wicklow.
8 Roland Harris Graham born Apr 1892 at Cambridge was a medical student in 1911. He
was educated at Cambridge University and at Trinity College, Dublin. He served with the
RAMC during WW1 and attained the rank of Captain. He married Kathleen Dunbar on
5 Jun 1923 at the Parish Church, Lower Macen, Monmouthshire, Wales. Kathleen was
the third daughter of the late James Dunbar of Bovil House, Machen. He died 29 Jul 1968
at The Lodge Bridge near Canterbury and left 15k in personal estate.
9 Frances Emily Graham born 17 Apr 1892 at Chesterton, Cambridgeshire was unmarried
and working as a nurse in 1921 working in Abingdon.
10 Doris Louisa Graham born April 1896 at Chesterton, Cambridgeshire. She was educated at
Trinity College, Dublin and qualified as a doctor. She was a missionary at Krishnagar, Bengal,
India in 1934. She died 18 Nov 1963 at Baggot Street Hospital late of 34 Waterloo Road.
