Fade Goff was born 18 Sep 1780 at Bryanstown, Co Wexford into a Quaker family. He was
the son of Richard Fade and Ann Neville. He emigrated to St John's, Newfoundland in 1806
and was at Prince Edward Island, Canada by 1810. He was a member of the General
Assembly on PE Island by 1812. He was a businessman and politician. Hon Fade Goff was
appointed a commissioner of peace for Queens, Kings and Prince counties on PE Island in
1834. He died 6 Jan 1836 at Erin Vale, PE Island and was buried at Charlottetown, Queens.
1 Richard Fade Goff eldest son born 29 Jan 1810 baptised 6 Nov 1811 at Churchtown,
PE Island. He married Charlotte Strangman on 24 February 1841 at Waterford
Cathedral. Charlotte was the youngest daughter of the late John Strangman of
Summerland and his wife Dinah Wilson Newsom. Richard was manager of Nenagh
National Bank. Richard died 11 Feb 1867 at Menton, Alpes Maritimes, France, his
wife Charlotte his executor. He left 2k in personal estate. Charlotte moved to
Arbutus Lodge, Monkstown after his death and then moved to 3 Ulster Terrace in
1870. Charlotte died 28 Feb 1874 aged 62 at 3 Ulster Terrace, Stillorgan and is
buried at Mount Jerome.
1 Mary Nanette Goff born 28 Dec 1841 baptised in Limerick died in London on
28 Apr 1867 and was buried at Mount Jerome.
2 Amelia Agnes Goff born circa 1845 died 7 May 1865 and is buried at Mount
Jerome.
3 Ada Beatrice Goff youngest daughter born circa 1851. As only surviving
daughter, she died at 3 Ulster terrace on 29 May 1874 aged 23. Victor Emanuel
Goff the informant. She is buried at Mount Jerome.
4 Victor Emanuel Goff only son born circa 1857. He was with the Royal Flint Rifles
and died 9 Jan 1879 at St Anne’s Hill, Blarney, Co Cork. His executor Thomas
Handcock Strangman. He is buried at Mount Jerome.
2 Amelia Anne Goff born 12 May 1811.
3 Sarah Matilda Goff born 17 Jan 1813.
4 John Goff baptised 7 Dec 1814.
5 Eliza Goff born circa 1816 died on 16 May 1835 at PE Island.

*Mary was possibly the daughter of John Ryan, printer, newspaperman, office holder, and
merchant who became known as ‘the father of the Press in British North America’ and his
wife Amelia Mott.
