Edward Fitzgerald (RC) born circa 1852 son of Thomas Fitzgerald and Margaret Martin. Edward
of 22 Fitzwilliam Place married Margaret L Hughes (C of I) on 15 Aug 1877 at St Mary’s Chapel.
Margaret was the daughter of the late Hon Baron Henry George Hughes, Solicitor General for
Ireland & Sarah Isabella L’Estrange. Edward was a JP and a solicitor in the firm of Messrs D & T
Fitzgerald, solicitors of 20 South Andrew Street, Dublin. They lived at the Priory, Monkstown and
later at Khyber Pass, Dalkey. Edward died on 27 Oct 1913 at Khyber Pass and left 13k in personal
estate. He was buried at Glasnevin. Margaret lived at Booterstown House from 1921 to 1925 and
was at Vergemount Clonskeagh by 1936 where she died 26 Oct 1939. Her daughter Margaret the
informant. She was buried at Glasnevin.

parents at Khyber Pass in 1911 and with her mother at Vergemount Terrace in 1939.
Margaret died at Clonskeagh on 15 Aug 1958. Her sister Ethel the informant.
2 David Fitzgerald eldest son born 15 Feb 1880 at Belgrave Square Kingstown died
13 Jul 1886 at the Priory Monkstown and was buried at Glasnevin.
3 Thomas Wilfred Fitzgerald born 5 Sep 1881 at Belgrave Square, Kingstown. He was a s
solicitor living at Khyber Pass and married Kathleen Maud (Bootles) Markey on
27 Apr 1911 at Navan Cathedral. Kathleen was the second daughter of Patrick Markey,
a bank manager. Tom died at St Michael’s Hospital, late of Khyber Pass on 8 May 1915.
He left 7K in personal estate, probate to his wife Kathleen.

6 Edward Martin Fitzgerald second son born 27 Aug 1886 at The Priory, Monkstown. He was
educated at The Oratory and later at Downside. He graduated Trinity and was called to
the bar in 1907. He married Edith Marie Phillips circa 1910 and they had four children.
Edward served during WW1 with the 5th Lancers. After the war he practised in London for
a time before returning to Dublin. Edith died 3 Oct 1963 at Oriel Lodge, Monkstown and
Edward died 15 Feb 1965 late of Oriel Lodge. Both are buried at Deansgrange.

8 John David Fitzgerald born 1 Mar 1890 at Fitzwilliam Place in Dublin graduated Trinity. He
was living at Booterstown House and married Ethne Radcliffe on 7 Nov 1923 at the Church
of the Holy Redeemer, Bray. John was a stockbroker and Ethne was the daughter of
Edward Radcliffe, a civil engineer.
9 James Fitzgerald born 3 Sep 1891 at Khyber Pass, Sorrento Terrace, Dalkey. He was a
solicitor and married Kathleen Markey, the widow of his brother Thomas Wilfred Fitzgerald
on 20 Sep 1920 at University Church, Stephen’s Green. They lived at 65 Lansdowne road and
had at least two children.

She married Maurice Ignatius Whyte on 14 Dec 1921 at Penyang. Maurice was a rubber
planter in Malaya and the son of the late John Joseph Whyte of Loughbrickland and High
Sheriff of Co Down. Maurice served with the Royal Artillery during WW1 and saw service in
France and Salonica. Maurice a retired secretary of a hospital died on 28 Feb 1956 at 50
Nutley Park. His funeral was held at the Sacred Heart Church Donnybrook and he was
buried at Glasnevin. Ethel died in 1974 and was buried with her husband.
11 Violet Helen Fitzgerald born 31 Mar 1894 at Fitzwilliam Place baptised at St Andrews. She
was living in London with her sisters Ethel Mary and Edith Mary in 1921. Violet died a
unmarried at Nutley Park on 27 Nov 1973 and was buried at Glasnevin.
