Charles Fitzgerald born 22.05.1785 son of Armstrong Fitzgerald, attorney and his wife Ann
Perry. He was in the yeomanry corps and was admitted solicitor in 1808. He was living at
Skinners Row when he married Anne Keating of Birr on 21.10 1809 at SS Michael & John RC
Church, Dublin. Charles was a solicitor of Stafford Street. Anne died in December 1831 at
Drumcondra.

2 Anna Maria Fitzgerald eldest daughter baptised 01.05.1813 at St Michael & John’s.
Anna Maria married Matthew Cane son of Thomas Cane on 02.05.1835 at St Mary’s
Parish Church. Anna Maria died on 14.01.1854 at St John’s Terrace, Clontarf.
1 Sophia Christina Cane baptised 11.02.1837 at St Mary’s Church.
2 Charles Cane baptised 05.08.1838 at St Mary’s Church.
Matthew, a widower married secondly Sarah Davis of Clontarf daughter of Henry Davis
on 12.08.1862 at St Mary’s Church. Matthew died on 25.12.1881 aged 69 years at 51
Jervis Street.
3 Percy Ashton Cane born 11.06.1866 at Alyvan house, Belmont Avenue, Donnybrook.
Percy died on 26.06.1874 aged 8 years and is buried at Mount Jerome.
3 Sophia Matilda Fitzgerald baptised on 30.07.1815 at SS Michael’s and St John’s. Sophia
of Clontarf died unmarried on 16.02.1859.
4 Charles Fitzgerald, baptised 08.06.1817 at SS Michael & John’s. Charles of Clontarf married
Bedelia Mary Cane only daughter of the late Thomas Henry Cane on 16.12.1858 at Clontarf
Parish Church. Witnesses Matthew Cane and Charles Fitzgerald. Bedelia died 30 Nov 1863
at Brighton Ville, Upper Rathmines and is buried at Glasnevin. Charles died of phthisis on
03.06.1882 aged 66 years at St John’s Terrace. Probate to son Gerald.

John’s Terrace, Clontarf.
2 Gerald Robert Fitzgerald born 22.05.1861 at St Johns Terrace, Clontarf baptised
16.07.1861 at Clontarf. Gerald a solicitor of 28 Stafford Street married Elizabeth Hall
of Ballymurtagh, Avoca, Wicklow daughter of Henry Hall on 18.09.1890 at St Mary’s
Church, Dublin. The family lived at 2 St John’s Terrace, Clontarf and at Stafford Street
in 1901 and Blessington Street in 1911. Gerald died on 30.11.1926 and is buried at
Mount Jerome. Elizabeth died on 09.04.1938 at the Adelaide Hospital late of Waterloo
Mansions.
1 Geraldine Fitzgerald born 09.05.1892 at 2 St John’s Terrace, Clontarf.
Charles was living at Greenhills, Dublin in 1835 and by 1844 was living at Dundrum. Charles
secondly married Caroline (surname unknown). They were at Rockmount by 1847 and in 1863
Charles senior of Stafford Street was living at Brighton Ville in Rathmines and was solicitor to the
South Dublin Union. Charles died at Stafford Street on his birthday 22.05.1872 and is buried at
Mount Jerome, probate to his daughter Caroline.
5 Caroline Fitzgerald baptised 01.03.1838 at the Pro Cathedral daughter of Charles and
Caroline Fitzgerald. As eldest surviving daughter she died 21.09.1875 at Stafford Street.
Probate to her brother Charles.
6 Charlotte Eugenie Fitzgerald born circa 1840. As second daughter of Charles, a solicitor of
Brighton Ville married George Ladbury Underwood at 1 Sep 1860 at St Peter’s Church,
Dublin. George was a commercial traveller and the son of Joseph Ladbury, a PLG.
1 Ada Constance Underwood born 06.05.1864 at 47 Upper Rathmines.
7 Isabella Fitzgerald born 11.04.1842 at Clontarf to Charles and Caroline Fitzgerald. As
youngest daughter of Charles of Brighton Ville married William Ashford Bell of Manchester
on 16.08.1865 at Rathmines. Isabella, a widow living with her three children in Strand Road,
Merrion in 1901.
