Joseph Faviere Elrington born 23.10.1823, eldest son of Rev Charles Richard Elrington. He
married Janet Fenwick on 20.08.1849 at the Parish Church, Dauntsey, Wiltshire. Janet was
the daughter of Rev Maurice George Fenwick. He was a QC and the Recorder of the city
and county of Londonderry. Joseph died 09.09.1883 at Carrickbrennan, Monkstown and
is buried at Deansgrange. Janet died 21.03.1905 at Marlay Grange, Rathfarmham and is
buried with her husband.
1 Rev Charles Elrington Bissett eldest son born circa 1850 married Edith Emily Helena
Moore eldest daughter of Rev J S Moore, Rector of Crofton on 30.07.1880 at Crofton
Parish Church. Charles died on 12.12.1888 at Lessendrum.
2 Isabella Elrington born circa 1853 married Sir Robert William Arbuthnot Holmes of
28 Molesworth Street son of Robert Holmes of Moycashel on 28.12.1871 at St
Stephen’s Church, Dublin. Robert died on 19.02.1910 at Ivanhoe, Landsdowne Road
late of 5 Clifton Terrace Monkstown and is buried at Deansgrange.
3 Maurice Elrington Bisset 3rd son born circa 1854 a lieutenant in the Royal Engineers
married Anna Isabella Brinkley 2nd daughter of late Walters Stephens Brinkley of
Knockmaroon House on 03.12.1884 at the Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul, Bath.
Maurice died on 15.06.1909 late of Lessendrum.
1 Janet Kathleen Elrington Bisset born 14.06.1886 at 16 Morehampton Road,
Donnybrook married William Turner Murray son of Col Rev Thomas Murray in
1917 at St Marylebone. On the death of her brother in 1915 Janet inherited the
Lessendrum estate and retained the Bisset name; Janet Kathleen Elrington
Murray-Bisset.
2 Walter Faviere Elrington Bissett only son born 21.02.1889 a 2nd lieutenant with
the 9th Gordon Highlanders was killed in action on 25.09.1915 aged 26 years late
of Lissedrum, Dunblade, Aberdeen.
4 Rev Mordaunt Elrington Bisset born 08.12.1859 baptised 12.02.1860 at Wrington Parish
Church, Somersetshire. Mordaunt the Rector of Bangor-on-Dee married Florence
Isabella Maude Tottenham daughter of Col Charles John Tottenham of Woodstock,
Wicklow on 27.10.1896 at St Michael’s Church, Chester Square, London. Mordaunt died
circa 28.10.1927 aged 68 years at St Michael’s Church.
