Joseph Edmondson born 1789 son of John and Jane Edmondson. He was a schoolmaster
when he married Ann Hesselwood at Penrith meeting House on 26.06.1822. Ann was the
daughter of Elias and Frances Hesselwood in 1822. Joseph died 31.10.1861 at his residence

1 John Edmondson born circa 08.09.1823 married Fanny Beale on 28.06.1860 at the
Friends Meeting House in Cork. John a seed merchant of Dame Street died on
18.08.1894 aged 70 years at Milltown. Thomas Edmondson present at death. Fanny
died on 03.11.1902 aged 77 years at Bannavilla, Castlewood Park, Rathmines.
2 Hewetson Edmondson born 01.10.1825 at Penrith married Huldah Beale daughter of
late George Beale on 12.11.1857 at the Friends Meeting House, Duncan Street, Cork.
Hewetson late of the Manor Mill Laundry, Dundrum died on 21.04.1867 aged 41 years
at same place. Huldah died on 09.07.1914 aged 85 years at Gortmore, Strand Road
and is buried at Mount Jerome.
3 Frances Edmondson born 26.06.1827 at Penrith.
4 Jane born 19.02.1829 Penrith, Lancashire. Jane was living with her parents in 1861 in
Cheetham, Manchester and living with her sister Agnes, a confectioner in 1881-1901 in
Kendal. Jane died on 11.04.1902 at Kendal.
5 Joseph Edmondson born 09.03.1831 at Penrith. Joseph a Manufacturer late of Frizinghall
near Bradford York married Ellen Priestman only daughter of late John Priestman of
Bradford on 16.09.1868 at the Friends Meeting House, Bradford.
6 Ann Edmondson born 05.01.1833 at Penrith.
7 Agnes Edmondson a Twin born 19.07.1834 at Great Bolton. Agnes a confectioner living
with her sister Jane from 1881 to 1901 and living alone in 1911 in Kendal.
8 Mary Edmondson a Twin born 19.07.1834 at Great Bolton died 24.11.1834 aged 4 months
and 5 days.
9 Thomas Edmondson born 08.08.1837 Bolton. Thomas of Dundrum married Anne Roberts
on 17.08.1868 at the Friends Meeting House, Eustace Street. Anne was the youngest
daughter of Samuel Roberts of Appian Way. They lived at Lynton, Dundrum from 1881 to
1886 before moving to Rathmines. Anne died 24.04.1907 aged 67 years at Creevagh,
Orwell Park, Rathmines. Thomas was a prominent member of the Society of Friends. He
was a JP, managing director of the Dublin Laundry Company in Milltown, a director of the
Dartry Dye Works, chairman of the Rathmines Council, president of the Hibernian Band of
Hope and originator of the Rathmines Technical School and many more. Thomas left for
Rio de Janeiro with Charles Bewley for the benefit of their health in January 1908 and died
there on 11.02.1908 aged 70 years at Strangers Hospital.
