Edward Cornelius Devine born 22 Jul 1869 at Fair Hill Gate Lodge, Bray son of James Devine, a
gardener and Mary Shannon. He was a gardener living at Avonmore and married Mary Hagan
on 23.09.1894 at St Catherine Chapel, Meath Street. Mary was living at 14 Belview Buildings
and was the daughter of John Hagan, a dairyman. They were living at Homestead by 1901
where Edward worked as a gardener. In 1911 Edward was working for Laurence Waldron a
stockbroker and MP of Marino, Killiney. Edward a landscape gardener died from injuries
after being hit by a car on 24.10.1859 at Monkstown Hospital. Mary died 22.04.1949 at St
Vincent's Fairview late of Dun Laoghaire. Both are buried at Deansgrange.
1 Edward Joseph Devine born 13.06.1896 at Avonmore. Edward was a director of James
Crean & Son, soap manufacturers of North King Street. Edward a company director
died on 17.08.1966 aged 70 years at 5 Trimleston Drive, Booterstown, his funeral mass
was held at Our Mary Queen of Peace in Merrion and he is buried at Deansgrange with
his parents. He was survived by his wife Katherine (Dolly).
