Alexander Crockett born 21.09.1881 son of John A Crockett, a farmer at Drummartin, Killea,
Donegal and his wife Margaret Anna Chambers. Alexander was a government official and
married Caroline Garrett Mercier on 31.03.1913 at St Jude’s Belfast. Caroline was the
daughter of late William Mercier and Elizabeth Bessie Garrett of Mountrath. They were living
at Connaught Lodge, Kildare in 1917. Alex worked as an inspector for the Department of
Agriculture and lived at Moorfield in Roebuck in 1918. They were living at Ballymagarvey by
1919 and the house and the 162 acre farm was put up for sale in 1927. Alexander died
before his son John married in 1943. Caroline died 03.06.1959 at Royal Victoria Hospital late
of 8 Castlehill Drive, Belfast and is buried Roselawn Cemetery.

2 John Alexander Crockett eldest son born 24.05.1917 at 89 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin
of Connaught Lodge, Kildare. John a lieutenant in the RN Reserve married Joan
Marjorie Foxlee only child of Richard Foxlee of Malmsmead on 15.09.1943 at St Martin’s,
East Hornsley, Surrey.
1 John Richard Foxlee Crockett died on 21.01.1947 aged 5 months.
3 William Godfrey Mercier Crockett born 07.09.1919 at 89 Lower Baggot Street of
Ballymagarvey, Balrath, Meath. William was an architect and died in West Sussex.
