William Corbet a printer of Great Britain Street and publisher of Wilson’s Dublin Directory in
1803. He was the owner of The Patriot newspaper and lived at Taney Lodge from 1821. He
died at Taney Lodge in Churchtown on 14.04.1842.
1 Robert Corbet eldest son born circa 1790 of Ballykaneen, Queens County married Alice
Mulhall of Laois daughter of John Mulhall circa 1819. Robert of Clonaslee, Queens
County son of William died on 30.01.1837 at Dundrum after a long illness and Alice died
21.08.1869 aged 69 years at Dundrum.
1 Robert Henry Corbet born circa 1820 married Louisa Frances Conroy youngest
daughter of John Conroy of Killeigh, Kings County on 11.01.1847. Robert died on
01.07.1894 aged 74 years at Ballykaneen.
2 John Mulhall Corbet 2nd son born circa 1823 died unmarried on 24.08.1879 aged
56 years at Spring Farm, Delgany.
3 William Joseph Corbet 3rd son born 10.12.1824 baptised 02.02.1825 at Rosenallis,
Laois married Mrs Elizabeth Dunlevie Shernise Jennings daughter of Richard
Jennings of 21 Great Brunswick Street on 08.08.1865 at St Mark’s Parish Church.
Elizabeth died on 21.04.1870 aged 39 years at Spring Farm and William married
secondly Maria Kennedy Fitzsimons daughter of David Fitzsimons of Ballybrack
on 15.10.1890 at the Roman Catholic Chapel of St Alphonsus in Ballybrack. William
died on 01.12.1909 aged 86 years at Spring Farm and is buried at Glasnevin.
Probate to Thomas Mulhall Corbet. Memorial to William in KIlquade Catholic
Church.
4 Susan Corbet baptised 22.08.1827 at Rosenallis.
5 Anna Victoria Corbet 2nd daughter married John Joseph Mullen MD eldest son of
the late Joseph Denis Mullen on 21.05.1862 by special licence at the Asylum in
Dundrum. It is thought they emigrated to Queensland.
6 Mary Corbet 3rd daughter born circa 1823 died unmarried on 18.12.1875 aged 42
years of Phthisis Pulmonary after a long illness at Dundrum and is buried at
Glasnevin.
7 Charles Grace Corbet youngest son born circa 1832 a Civil Engineer of Payer Park,
Dundrum married Anna le Guery only surviving child of late Sir Eugene le Guery of
Bayonne on 11.06.1855 at Booterstown. Anna died on 20.11.1878 at 27 Upper
Gardiner Street. Charles a Widower died on 12.08.1890 aged 58 years at 28 Harcourt
Street.
8 Teresa Corbet youngest daughter born circa 1837 and died on 30.12.1864 aged 27
years at Dundrum.
2 John Corbet born circa 1792 Comptroller of his Majesty’s Customs of the port of
Baltimore died 23.10.1836 aged 43 years at the residence of his father in Churchtown
and is buried at Stillorgan Churchyard with his sisters Teresa and Anne.
3 William Corbet FRCSI born 14.09.1793 graduated Arts in 1815 and Medicine in
1832. William married Anne Costigan eldest daughter of John Costigan on 13.04.1831
at the Roman Catholic Church in Rathmines. William was resident physician of the
Central Lunatic Asylum in Dundrum. Anne died 27.03.1857 and William a widower
died on 22.06.1872 aged 78 years the Asylum in Dundrum. Uncle to Mrs Mullen as
reported in the Brisbane Courier. Probate by oath of sister Susan Corbet
4 Susan Corbet born circa 1795 last surviving daughter of William Corbet of Taney
Lodge died on 08.07.1880 aged 85 years at Hampton Convent, Drumcondra and is
buried at Glasnevin.
5 Teresa Corbet married John Charles Lyons. Teresa died on 20.03.1821 and John
died on 05.12.1869 aged 87 years at his residence 79 Pembroke Road. They are
buried at Stillorgan graveyard with their infant child.

6 Anne Corbet died 03.06.1834 and is buried with her sister Teresa at Stillorgan
graveyard.
