Joseph William Coppinger born 08.09.1807 son of Stephen Coppinger. He was a solicitor
and married Agnes Mary Cooke on 17.06.1835 at Borrisoleigh. Agnes was the only daughter
of late William Lalor Cooke and his wife Margaret of Fortwilliam, Tipperary in 1835. They
lived at Farmley, Dundrum from 1856 to 1876. Agnes died 15.04.1862 at Farmley and is
buried at Glasnevin. Joseph died 28.07.1883 at 14 Upper Merrion Street and is buried at
Glasnevin.
1 Stephen William Coppinger born circa 10.04.1836 married Margaret Hanly daughter
of Joseph Hanly of Ardarvon on 04.04.1864 at Ardavon. Margaret died of Scarlatina on
06.06.1878 aged 43 years at Main Street, Thurles. Stephen died on 23.01.1899 aged
62 years at The Mall, Thurles.
2 Susan Margaret Coppinger baptised on 20.07.1837 at the Pro Cathedral, Dublin and
died 28.03.1839 aged 2 years and is buried at Glasnevin.
3 William Cooke Coppinger baptised 07.05.1839 at the Pro Cathedral and died on
17.07.1847 aged 8 years and is buried at Glasnevin.
4 Valentine John Coppinger born 14.02.1841 a barrister of Farmley and 38 Kildare Street
married Kate Georgina Kane daughter of Robert Kane of Wyckham, Dundrum on
12.08.1872 at Holy Cross Chapel, Dundrum. Witnesses Charles Coppinger and Florence
Kane. Valentine died on 19.07.1916 aged 75 years at 8 Morehampton Road.
5 Joseph Francis Coppinger baptised on 13.10.1843 at the Pro Cathedral.
6 Charles Philip Coppinger baptised 26.08.1845 at the Pro Cathedral. Charles a Fellow of
the Royal College of Surgeons was for many years a consulting surgeon to the Mater
Hospital and Professor of Medicine in the Catholic University School of Medicine. Charles
died unmarried on 22.12.1908 aged 63 years at 17 Merrion Square North and is buried
at Glasnevin. Probate to brother Valentine.
7 Richard William Coppinger MD baptised on 19.10.1847 at the Pro Cathedral, Dublin.
Richard was fleet surgeon RN married Tillie Browne eldest daughter of Harvey Browne
of New South Wales and Queensland on 08.01.1884.
8 John Joseph Coppinger baptised on 15.12.1849 at the Pro Cathedral. John served as clerk
of the Union and Rural Council of Thurles for over 20 years and died unmarried on
08.05.1919 aged 67 years at his residence The Mall, Thurles.
9 Agnes Mary Annette Coppinger of 8 Nr Frederick Street baptised on 12.01.1854 at the Pro
Cathedral, Dublin. Agnes died unmarried on 23.04.1898 aged 44 years at Fortwilliam,
Thurles.
