James Collins born circa 1860 son of John Collins. He was a coachman of 60 Eccles Street
when he married Mary O’Keefe a servant of 4 Whitethorn Lane, Ringsend daughter of
Michael O’Keefe ON 19.02.1882. Mary died of phthisis on 23.05.1885 aged 24 years at 4
Eglinton Lane.
James Collins a coachman and widower of 3 Eglinton Place, Dublin married secondly
Margaret Doyle on 06.06.1886 at Holy Cross Chapel, Dundrum. Margaret was living at
Rockville, Dundrum and the daughter of John Doyle. In 1901 James had to identify his
adopted daughter Mary Byrne after she drowned and her body washed up at Williamstown.
Mary had gone missing from her employment at 19 Vesey Place. Margaret died of phthisis
on 08.05.1902 at Yapton gatelodge.

James a widower and coachman of Yapton gatelodge married thirdly Anne Carroll of 3
Princes Cottages, Monkstown on 26.04.1903 at St Patrick’s Chapel, Monkstown. Anne was the
daughter of William Carroll. By 1909 the family were living at Longford Terrace.

3 James Collins born 30.07.1907 at Monkstown Avenue.
4 Christopher Anthony Collins born 09.06.1909 at Longford Terrace.
