Colin George Lorn Campbell born 31.10.1846 at Killin Pertth in Scotland 3rd son of Lieutenant
Charles William Campbell and Charlotte Olympia Cockburn. He was a major in of the
Ordinance Store, Dublin Castle and married Robina Gordon Fraser on 21.07.1886 at Cardor
Church, Nairn. Robina was the daughter of Robert Fraser, a whiskey distiller of Brakla, Nairn.
Colin died 15.08.1890 at Forthside, Nairn after a few days out with a shooting party with friends
on the moors near Louch Katrine. At the time of his death Colin was Senior Ordnance Store
Officer of the N.B. Military Headquarters, Edinburgh. Robina died 11.11.1942 at Forthside,
Nairn, her daughter Isla the informant.
1 Isla (Muriel) Lorn Gavin Campbell born 26.08.1887 at Myersville, Stradbrook and died
02.01.1967 at Nairn.
2 Captain Charles Colin Kinloch Campbell born 11.02.1889 at the Lodge, Balerno. Charles
was educated at Wellington College and served with the Army Cyclist Corps attached to
the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders. Charles was killed in action on 28.09.1915 in
France and is remembered at Loos Memorial, Pas de Calais.
