Charles Henry Crookshank born at 4 Blessington Street baptised 04.06.1859 at St Mary's Church,
Dublin only son of Robert Crookshank of Glenmanus House, Portrush, Antrim and his wife Olivia.
He was a barrister-at-law of 10 Henrietta Street, Dublin and married Elizabeth Henrietta Stokes
of 24 Clyde Road at St Stephen's Church on 27.03.1890. Elizabeth was the eldest daughter of
Henry John Stokes, late Indian Civil Service. The family lived in Howth in 1901 and by 1911 were
at Lynwood, Dundrum. By 1913 they lived at Ardglass, Dundrum. Charles died 19.05.1927 at
Woodbank, Whiteabbey, Antrim and Elizabeth died 05.01.1945 at St Ann's Gift, Fethard, Co
Tipperary.
1 Commander Robert Crookshank born 13.03.1892 at 58 Upper Mount Street served with
the Royal Navy. In 1922, Robert aged 30 years was a trader was bound for Australia.
2 Henry Crookshank born 13.02.1893 at 58 Upper Mount Street was educated St Columba’s
College, Whitechurch. Henry joined the Dublin Fusiliers and served in the Middle East and
France. Henry a geologist in India married Eileen Mary Somerville-Lodge daughter of Joseph
Lodge on 28.10.1921 at St James’s Church, Calcutta.
3 Arthur Chichester Crookshank 3rd son born 01.04.1894 at 58 Upper Mount Street. Arthur
late of Dundrum, a corporal in the Royal Dublin Fusiliers was killed in action on 16.08.1915
at Suvla Bay, Gallipoli. Probate granted to his father.
4 Olivia Henrietta Agnes Crookshank eldest daughter born 16.12.1897 at Dungriffin, Howth.
Olivia of Ardglass, Dundrum married Major John William Hughes of Royal Field Artillery son
of late John Hughes of Fethard, Tipperary on 23.07.1918 at Christ Church, Taney.
5 Mary Rebecca Crookshank 15.11.1898 Howth. Mary of Woodbank, Whiteabbey, Belfast
married Becher FitzJames Haythornthwaite son of Rev J Haythornthwaite of Milltown,
Dublin on 10.09.1923 at Whitehouse Parish Church, Belfast.
6 Janet Margaret Crookshank born circa 1900 died on 02.07.1941 aged 40 years at the Meath
Hospital, Dublin late of Carrickfergus Lodge, Shankill and Ardglass, Whitehouse, Antrim.
Probate to her sister Mary Rebecca.
7 William Stokes Crookshank born 11.06.1901 at 24 Clyde Road of Dungriffin, Howth. William
died suddenly at the National Defence Medical Center, Ottawa, Ontario.
