William Booth born circa 1792 at London, Middlesex. Deputy Commissary General to the Forces,
William Booth married Eliza Bisset 19 Oct 1835 at Perth. Eliza was the only daughter of Sir John
Bisset, KCH of Reichip, Perthshire in Scotland. William served in Sir John’s Moore’s Army in Spain
and afterwards with the Duke of Wellington’s army during the Peninsular Wars earning 10 clasps for
participation at Corunna, Talavera, Busaco, Salamanca, Vittoria, Pyrenees, Nivelle, Nive, Orthotia
and Toulouse. Elizabeth died at Frankfurt Lodge in August 1841.
1 Elizabeth Booth born circa 1838 living with her father and stepmother at Cheltenham in
1871. Elizabeth died a spinster at Lyncourt, The Park, Cheltenham on 6 Oct 1914 and left
20K in personal estate.
2 Arthur John Booth born 8 Aug 1841 at Frankfort Lodge baptised at Taney Church. He
graduated Trinity and later became an author. He survived the Irish mail train crash of
1868 at Abergele and moved to England in 1871. He had a house in Bournemouth called
Emo Lodge. Arthur died on 19 Aug 1913 at Stratford House, Ryde, Isle of Wight. He left
41K in personal estate, his nephews Henry Pratt and William Bond were his executors.
William of Frankfort Lodge, Dundrum married Juliana widow of James Pratt on 14 Jan 1846 at St
Peter’s Church, Dublin and they lived at Farm Hill until 1871. Juliana was the daughter of John and
Louisa Martha Hallowes. William was created Companion of the Bath in 1850 and retired from
the service on a pension in 1856. William died 4 May 1880 at Lansdown Crescent, Cheltenham
and left 60K in personal estate. Julia died on 2 Jul 1881 aged 91 at Lansdown Crescent,
Cheltenham and left 7K in personal estate.
