Benedict Arthure born circa 1782 son of Daniel Arthur and his first wife Catherine Warner. He
was admitted Kings Inns and was a solicitor and Clerk of the Peace for the County of Dublin.
He married Anne Vaughan on 15 Jul 1809 at St Georges’ Dublin. He was partner in Arthur &
Vaughan of 7 Stafford Street, Dublin. He married Anne Vaughan on 15 Jul 1809 at St George’s
Church, Dublin and they lived 45 Dominick Street. They had moved to Monkstown by 1835.
Annie died on 06.02.1838 at Dominic Street and Benedict died 02.07.1839 at Monkstown.
There is a Memorial Tablet to them in Monkstown Church.
1 Mary Arthure eldest daughter born circa 1812 married Warwick Pearson Hyndman on
14.04.1834 at St George’s Church, Dublin. Mary died 20.11.1869 aged 57 years and
Warwick died on 23.11.1871 both in Antigua.
2 William Henry Arthure eldest son born circa 1816 educated Kingstown died circa 1850
of Dancane Estate, Finglas. Probate to his brother James.
3 Benedict Arthure 2nd son baptised 25.07.1817 at St Mary’s Church. He was admitted
Kings Inns and died on 29.05.1846 aged 28 years at Yapton, Monkstown.
4 Elizabeth Arthure second daughter baptised 31.07.1824 at St Mary’s Church of Dominick
Street. Eliza married Robert Jones Fox on 05.11.1844 at Monkstown Church. Robert was
the only son of Michael Fox, an attorney of Clifton Terrace and Suzanna Lloyd. He was a
solicitor of Stephen’s Green. Robert a clerk of the peace of Co Roscommon died a
widower aged 55 on 04.04.1869 at Howth.

2 Benedict Arthure Fox born 1849.
3 Robert Jones Fox third son born 1850 died at sea on board the British Ship Zoe
12.12.1876. Probate to his sister Mary.
4 William Fox born 1852.
5 Mary Arthure Kate Fox born 1854. As only surviving daughter she married John
Lloyd Devenish in 1884 and were in Australia in 1885.
6 Susan Emma Fox second daughter born circa 1860. As youngest surviving daughter
she died 27.09.1877 at Roscommon.
5 James Vaughan Arthure born circa 1827 graduated Trinity College. He was gazetted to
the 97th Regiment in 1847. He was a lieutenant in the 17th Regiment in 1850 and
promoted to captain in 1851. He was appointed acting clerk to the Petty sessions at Yea,
Melbourne, Australia in 1864 and died in 1882.

Benedict Arthure born circa 1782 son of Daniel Arthur and his first wife Catherine Warner. He
